Position Summary

Thales is looking for a Senior Cloud Security Engineer / Architect who will respond to security and system health incidents, provide holistic operational guidance, and troubleshoot and configure Imperva's Cloud Application Security platform.
You will work across cloud application and security domains, from integration tasks (such as key management and logging) to security response (advising during triage, analysis, and remediation) and providing analysis and insights through advanced reporting.
You will consult with internal technical and business teams (support, R&D, account executives, renewals), improving best practices for solutions and services, and work closely with management to implement and expand the global Enterprise Services program.
The position entails occasional paid weekend on-call rotation (1 weekend per quarter)
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Expertise with Imperva Cloud Application Security platform and staying current on cloud, application, and cybersecurity trends.
- Provide comprehensive service to customers, including proactive monitoring, configuration, integration assistance, and post-sales support.
- Analyze customer data such as case trends, traffic, alerts and attack information to make recommendations for improving system health and overall security posture. Research new attack vectors and security solutions to create customized security policies that detect, alert, and prevent malicious requests and attacks.
- Participate in presentations, Quarterly Business Reviews and Service Reviews with customers on a regular basis.
- Take ownership of problems and work with Imperva's internal threat research, data science, and product teams by delivering actionable intelligence to inform future product enhancements.
- Keep customer teams up to date on onboarding, configuration and tuning efforts, cases, feature requests, service review calls, and current field news on the latest security trends and product release notes.
- Develop and implement troubleshooting tools, processes, and ideas that improve efficiency of Enterprise Services delivery. Continually evaluate and enhance proactive monitoring, automation, and reporting initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of a 4 year bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or other technology field and at least 6 years' experience in application or network security in a technical customer-facing role with at least the last 4 years in application security; OR
- Master’s degree in a technology field and 5 years' experience in application or network security with at least 3 years in a technical customer-facing role.
- Demonstrated experience with Internet security and networking technologies such as TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, proxies, firewalls, OWASP Top 10, and automated threats to web applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, self-learning ability, strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and a customer-focused, team-player attitude.
- Experience with basic scripting in one or more languages, such as Python.
- A knack for automating redundant tasks, streamlining repetitive processes, and identifying opportunities to scale operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
- Flexibility to take appointments in the evenings and mornings, as required.
The anticipated Total Target Compensation (TTC), inclusive of annual salary and bonus eligibility, for this role is $78,627.75 - $139,038.26 CAD Annual. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's status protected by local, provincial, and federal laws.
