Do you have experience in an Agile SAFe environment, have you worked in Aerospace and/or PLM Capabilities Overhaul and Transformation and would you like to progress and develop new skills? Then this job is for you!

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Senior PLM Architect to join our Engineering Transverse Strategy Organization based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you jointly collaborate with all streams and functions of the enterprise, from Digital to Engineering, including Manufacturing, Operations and Customer Support.

You will be part of the Engineering Transverse Process, Methods, Tools and Data (PMTD) Strategy team responsible to bridge the gap between strategic business capabilities and technical execution within our Engineering Transverse Strategy organization integrating across all business functions.

Why does this Role Matters ?

This key role ensures the on-time, on-quality, on-cost, and on-performance delivery of Processes, Methods, Tools, Data, and Capabilities (PMTDC) focused on aerospace product development

You are not just managing a tool or a process; you are defining the digital backbone of our future aircraft. You are the architect ensuring that when a requirement changes in the Systems Architecture, it is correctly reflected in Manufacturing and supported by Customer Service years later.

Your role as Senior PLM Architect will be to act as the "connective tissue" across the entire Aircraft Value Stream. You will champion the alignment of Processes, Methods, Tools, and Data (PMTD) with our PLM and Business capability Roadmap, ensuring a seamless digital thread from initial Concept (Systems Architecture) through to Requirements and V&V Management, Design of Embedded Systems, Equipment, Avionics, Systems Installation and Design and Sizing of the Aerostructure, to Design to Production, Design to Services and finally to Support the Aircraft Fleet In-Service. Operating within an Agile SAFe environment, you will break down silos between Program Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Support and the Digital Organization, to deliver a unified, efficient, and high-quality engineering capabilities and ecosystem.

Your challenges:

In a complex environment, supporting process owners and business architects, lead the definition and deployment of unified engineering processes and a set of tools to support the integration of our engineering competency centers, as well as within peripheral functions such as Operations, Manufacturing Engineering and Customer Services. The main challenge is to gradually replace disparate legacy systems with a coherent strategy, notably through CM-PLM transformation, to ensure seamless collaboration on projects such as production rate increases, hence ensuring flawless development on current as well as on new products.

In a complex ecosystem, govern and plan the integration of new, more agile methodologies into our product development and R&T processes. You will need to reconcile the flexibility and speed requirements of early innovation and continuous improvement phases with the rigorous structure and certification requirements of our major aerospace programs, ensuring that our methods support both exploration and execution.

As a key player in our CM-PLM transformation, you will be responsible for ensuring the synchronicity of initiatives linked to our PLM/ERP Architecture. This involves ensuring data consistency and process cohesion, from the initial design and R&T phases through to design, manufacturing, and in-service support, for both new aircraft and existing products.

  • End-to-End Alignment: Drive the integration of PMTD strategies across the full product lifecycle, ensuring that upstream decisions (e.g., Systems Architecture) seamlessly enable downstream activities (e.g., Manufacturing & Customer Support).
  • Value Stream Coordination: Act as a key architect within the SAFe framework to map and optimize value streams that span multiple business functions.
  • Business Capability Translation: Translate complex business needs—ranging from Avionics Design to Aerostructure Sizing—into actionable PLM and PMTD requirements.

Domain Leadership & Harmonization

  • Systems Engineering: Aircraft Systems Architecture, Requirements Management, V&V, and Embedded Systems Design.
  • Physical Design: Equipment, Avionics, Systems Installation, and Aerostructure Design & Sizing.
  • Lifecycle Transition: "Design to Production" (handoff to Mfg) and "Design to Services" (handoff to Support).
  • Fleet Support: Enabling data continuity for Support the Aircraft Fleet In-Service.

Transverse Enablement

  • Configuration Management: Define and enforce the strategy for maintaining the digital twin configuration across all lifecycle phases.
  • Design Quality Management: Embed quality checks and validation standards directly into the PMTD workflow.
  • Business Enablement: Ensure that processes, tools and data architectures support the actual day-to-day realities of the engineering workforce, minimizing friction and maximizing adoption.

Agile Leadership & SAFe Competencies Upskilling

As a catalyst for our Agile transformation framework, you will act as a Lean-Agile leader and change agent, guiding our organization through the cultural and methodological shifts required for PLM and engineering modernization.

  • Coaching & Mentoring: Act as a dedicated SAFe coach for Agile Framework, Product Owners/Workpacks Leaders, Business Owners, EPIC Owners, Process Owners, and Engineering Teams. You will mentor stakeholders on how to bridge the gap between traditional aerospace engineering processes and Lean-Agile execution.
