Job Description

Our client, a well-known company in the aerospace sector located in Laval, is seeking a Senior Aircraft Structures Assembler to join its production team. The incumbent will be responsible for the assembly, fitting and installation of aircraft structural components according to plans, procedures and industry quality standards. We are looking for an experienced, autonomous and rigorous candidate with solid expertise in structural assembly and a constant focus on precision and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Install structural components, assemble and build sub-assemblies of aircraft systems, parts and components within a project or assigned area.
  • Use technical data and instructions provided by the client or aircraft manufacturer.
  • Use templates and position components based on PVA, engineering drawings or other materials provided by the methods department.
  • Read and interpret plans or the manufacturing dossier.
  • Adapt work to different types of assembly: large and small components.
  • Set up and use manual or automated machines and tools according to the work to be performed.
  • Assemble metal and/or composite parts according to the technical specifications provided by the client.
  • Install required fasteners; drill holes; ensure the correct products are used for assembly (bolts, solid or mechanical rivets, screws or accessories to secure, support or hang components and sub-assemblies).
  • Ensure correct products are used for assembly (sealants, bonding, corrosion treatment, painting).
  • Ensure assemblies comply with the manufacturing dossier.
  • Inspect and verify units, parts and installed equipment to ensure suitability, performance and compliance with standards defined in the technical documentation.
  • Adhere to quality standards and production rates.
  • Comply with health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Report any anomaly or irregularity.
  • Participate in training junior assemblers and guide them in performing their work as needed.
  • Other related tasks as required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of experience as a structures assembler in the aerospace sector.
  • Minimum Diploma of Vocational Studies in aircraft structures assembly or equivalent.
  • Excellent blueprint/plan reading skills.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Quick thinking and strong attention to detail.
  • Fluency in French (spoken and written); English is an asset.
