Electromechanical Assembler (Premier Assembler)

Montreal, QC (On-Site)

Job Summary:

Working in a class 100,000 cleanroom environment and reporting to the Production Supervisor, the assembler performs the tasks necessary to assemble, disassemble, repair, adjust, solder, unsolder, check prefabricated elements and electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, electrical and electro-optical cards.

Responsibilities:

• Assembles, disassembles, repairs, adjusts and checks mechanical and optical assemblies from instruction manuals, parts lists, mechanical and/or optical assembly drawings
• Uses various tools and jigs for mechanical assembly
• Prepares, cleans and installs optical parts in metal and/or plastic housings
• Retouches the painting of metal housings before final inspection.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• DEC or DEP in electronics, mechanics or equivalent or Technical diploma from a recognized school in an appropriate discipline.
• Read, interpret or follow information from drawings, sketches, charts, tables, scales, procedures, schedules or any other document to carry out the required work.
• Knowledge of reading mechanical and/or electronic blueprints.
• Good skills and manual dexterity.
• Excellent visual acuity and good hand-eye coordination.
• Various knowledge in the use of different tools.
• Meticulousness and precision for assembling delicate parts.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of French and English (written and spoken).
• Knowledge of IPC 610 standards an asset.

This position requires a good knowledge of English to interact with, support and/or provide services to international clients, employees and/or partners as well as foreign government authorities who do not speak French.
