Electromechanical Assembler (Premier Assembler)

Working in a Class 100,000 cleanroom environment and reporting to the Production Supervisor, the assembler performs the necessary tasks to assemble, disassemble, repair, adjust, solder, unsolder, check prefabricated elements and electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, electrical, and electro-optical cards.

Responsibilities

• Assembles, disassembles, repairs, adjusts, and checks mechanical and optical assemblies from instruction manuals, parts lists, mechanical and/or optical assembly diagrams
• Uses various tools and jigs for mechanical assembly
• Prepares, cleans, and installs optical parts in metal and/or plastic housings
• Retouches the paint of metal housings before final inspection.

Requirements

• DEC or DEP in electronics, mechanics or equivalent or Technical Diploma from a recognized school in an appropriate discipline.
• Read, interpret or follow information from drawings, sketches, charts, tables, ranges, procedures, schedules or any other document, to carry out the required work.
• Knowledge of reading mechanical and/or electronic blueprints.
• Good skills and manual dexterity.
• Excellent visual acuity and good hand-eye coordination.
• Various knowledge in the use of different tools.
• Meticulousness and precision for assembling delicate parts.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of French and English (written and spoken).
• Knowledge of IPC 610 standards an asset.

This position requires a good knowledge of English to interact, support and/or provide services to international clients, employees and/or partners as well as to foreign government authorities who do not speak French.

This position requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software or technical information controlled under the Canadian Export Control List, the Canadian Controlled Goods Program, the Canadian Industrial Security Program, the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be eligible or able to obtain authorization for such access including eligibility to the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and able to obtain a Canadian Enhanced Reliability security clearance.
