Electromechanical Assembler (Lead Fitter)

Montreal, QC (On Site)

Job Summary:

Working in a Class 100,000 cleanroom environment and reporting to the Production Supervisor, the assembler performs the necessary tasks to assemble, disassemble, repair, adjust, solder, desolder, and inspect prefabricated elements and electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, electrical, and electro-optical boards.

Responsibilities:

  • Assembles, disassembles, repairs, adjusts, and inspects mechanical and optical assemblies based on instruction manuals, parts lists, mechanical and/or optical assembly diagrams.

  • Uses various tools and jigs for mechanical assembly.

  • Prepares, cleans, and installs optical parts in metal and/or plastic housings.

  • Retouches paint on metal housings before final inspection.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • DEC or DEP in electronics, mechanics or equivalent, or a technical diploma from a recognized school in an appropriate discipline.

  • Read, interpret or follow information from drawings, sketches, charts, tables, ranges, procedures, schedules or any other document to perform the required work.

  • Knowledge of reading mechanical and/or electronic plans.

  • Good manual skills and dexterity.

  • Excellent visual acuity and good hand-eye coordination.

  • Varied knowledge in the use of different tools.

  • Meticulousness and precision for assembling delicate parts.

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of French and English (written and spoken).

  • Knowledge of IPC 610 standards an asset.

This position requires a good knowledge of English to interact, support and/or provide services to international clients, employees and/or partners as well as foreign government authorities who do not speak French.

This position requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software, or technical information controlled under Canada's Controlled Goods and Technologies List, Canada's Controlled Goods Program, Canada's Industrial Security Program, the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be eligible or able to obtain authorization for such access, including eligibility for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and able to obtain an Enhanced Reliability Canadian security clearance.
