Responsibilities

  • Responsible for structural installation, assembly and sub-assembly of aircraft systems, parts and components within a project and/or assigned area.
  • Use technical data and instructions provided by the client or aircraft manufacturer.
  • Use templates and position components from PVA, engineering drawings or any other material provided by the methods department.
  • Read and interpret drawings or the manufacturing dossier.
  • Adapt work to different types of assembly: large/small components.
  • Set up and use manual or automated machines and tools according to the work to be performed.
  • Assemble metallic and/or composite parts according to technical specifications provided by the client.
  • Install required fastenings; drill holes; ensure correct products are used for assembly (bolts, flush or mechanical rivets, screws or accessories to secure, support or suspend components and sub-assemblies).
  • Ensure proper use of products for assembly (sealants, adhesives, corrosion treatment, paint).
  • Ensure assemblies comply with the manufacturing dossier.
  • Inspect and verify installed units, parts and equipment to ensure suitability, performance and compliance with standards defined in the technical documentation.
  • Meet quality standards and production rates.
  • Comply with health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Report any anomalies or irregularities.
  • Any other related tasks.

Skills and qualifications

  • Minimum five years' experience as a structural assembler in the aerospace field, ideally on the Global 8000.
  • Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in aircraft structural assembly or equivalent.
  • Excellent blueprint reading skills.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Quick thinking and strong attention to detail.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.
