Summary

The successful candidate will assist in all aspects of the internal audit program to examine and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the quality management system, monitoring compliance with contractual, regulatory and internal company requirements. Functional areas will include maintenance departments, facilities and fixed-base operator (FBO) services.

This role aims to promote safety, quality and operational excellence in maintenance, ground handling, fuel management and occupational health and safety. The position involves travel to FBO sites across Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Execaire's Aeronautical Quality Management System documentation and draft updates as required.
  • Conduct audits, prepare detailed reports and present findings.
  • Initiate corrective actions, assess response plans and root cause analyses, and perform follow-up verifications.
  • Carry out necessary audit follow-up, including communicating with the auditee on the status of action resolution.
  • Conduct product compliance reviews, including verification of documentation.
  • Perform conformity and quality checks of aeronautical products, prepare reports and initiate appropriate actions.
  • Participate in technical investigations, analyze/evaluate results and make recommendations.
  • Carry out supplier evaluations and approvals.
  • Participate in the safety management program and 6S inspections.
  • Evaluate compliance with IS‑BAH standards by reviewing elements such as safety management systems (SMS), emergency response planning and operational procedures to assess Step 1, 2 or 3 certification levels.
  • Inspect aviation fuel quality control and handling practices in accordance with JIG standards, including equipment inspection, review of procedures and verification of documentation to prevent contamination and ensure safe refueling operations.
  • Assess workplaces to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements set out in Part II of the Canada Labour Code, including hazard prevention programs, employee training, incident investigations and preventive measures to reduce accidents, injuries and occupational illnesses.
  • Perform regular workplace inspections as required by Part II of the Canada Labour Code.
  • Audit compliance regarding safety equipment, tool control, chemical storage and safety standards for ground support equipment (GSE).

Requirements

  • Diploma as a technologist/technician or a degree in aviation management, or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of CARs, JIG standards for aviation fuel, including hands-on experience in fuel handling facilities, quality control testing and inspection techniques.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in aviation operations, ground handling or FBO management, including at least 3 years in audit or compliance roles.
  • Thorough understanding of Part II of the Canada Labour Code, including hazard assessment, preventive measures and employee safety training requirements. Demonstrated knowledge of IS‑BAH certification, including mastery of SMS and operational expertise in handling fixed-wing or rotary-wing aircraft.
