Summary
The successful candidate will assist in all aspects of the internal audit program to review and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the quality management system, monitoring compliance with contractual, regulatory, and internal company requirements. Functional areas will include maintenance departments, facilities, and fixed-base operators (FBOs).
This role aims to promote safety, quality, and operational excellence in the areas of maintenance, ground handling, fuel management, and occupational health and safety. The position involves travel to FBO sites across Canada.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Execaire's Aviation Quality Management System documentation and draft updates as directed.
- Conduct audits, write detailed reports, and present briefings.
- Initiate corrective actions, evaluate response plans and root cause analyses, and conduct follow-up verifications.
- Perform necessary follow-up on audits, including communicating with the auditee on the status of action resolution.
- Conduct product compliance reviews, including document verification.
- Perform aviation product compliance and quality checks, write reports, and initiate appropriate actions.
- Participate in technical investigations, analyze/evaluate results, and make recommendations.
- Perform supplier assessments and approvals.
- Participate in the safety management program and 6S inspections.
- Assess compliance with IS-BAH standards by reviewing elements such as Safety Management Systems (SMS), emergency response planning, and operational procedures to verify Stage 1, 2, or 3 certification levels.
- Inspect aviation fuel quality control and handling practices according to JIG standards, including equipment inspection, procedure review, and documentation verification to prevent contamination and ensure safe refueling operations.
- Evaluate workplaces to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements outlined in Part II of the Canada Labour Code, including hazard prevention programs, employee training, incident investigations, and preventive measures to reduce accidents, injuries, and occupational diseases.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, as required by Part II of the CLC.
- Audit compliance with safety equipment, tool control, chemical storage, and safety standards for ground support equipment (GSE).
Requirements
- Graduate technologist/technician diploma or a diploma in aviation management, or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of CARs, JIG standards for aviation fuel, including practical experience in fuel handling facilities, quality control testing, and inspection techniques.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation operations, ground handling, or FBO management, with at least 3 years in audit or compliance roles.
- In-depth understanding of Part II of the Canada Labour Code, including risk assessment, preventive measures, and employee safety training requirements. Demonstrated knowledge of IS-BAH certification, including proficiency in SMS and operational expertise in handling fixed-wing or rotary-wing aircraft.
