Job Description
Do you have experience in logistics, have you worked with airlines in a cabin environment and do you want to evolve and develop new skills? This position is for you!
The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for an operational manager for parts purchased by airlines to join our Cabin supply team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada), where you will work in conjunction with the Buyer Furnished Equipment (BFE) managers team and the logistics team to ensure the timely and quality delivery of BFE parts.
You will be part of a team responsible for developing BFE equipment in coordination with suppliers and airlines. The team organization is established to promote autonomous cross-functional collaboration, mutual support, and collective learning.
Your role as BFE operational parts manager will be to keep updated lists of these parts that customers must order directly from suppliers, and then distribute them to airlines.
You will work closely with logistics teams and airlines to proactively anticipate any risk of delayed delivery of these parts. Your mission will include contributing to the definition of effective mitigation solutions to minimize potential impacts on the final assembly line.
Your challenges:
Customer Relationship and Data Management:
Establish and maintain trusting relationships with airlines regarding the management of their parts.
Analyze data provided by internal departments to identify and correct inconsistencies before transmission to customers.
Update and communicate BFE parts lists to customers in line with parts supply lead times. Confirm to customers the proper receipt of their parts.
Logistics Coordination and Risk Management:
Collaborate closely with the logistics team to anticipate delivery delay risks and develop mitigation measures.
Provide support to the logistics team in closing non-conformities.
Manage escalations from the assembly line related to delivery delays that could directly compromise the production chain.
Continuous Improvement:
Actively participate in local and transnational improvement projects.
Requirements
Your profile:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 3 to 5 years of experience required in logistics.
Aeronautical Logistics and Supplier Expertise: Mastery of logistics processes specific to aeronautics (long cycles, strict quality standards, traceability, etc.).
Client and Stakeholder Management (Internal/External): Solid experience in managing client expectations, anticipating needs, and proactive communication on the status of BFE orders/deliveries. Constant coordination with multidisciplinary teams (Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Quality).
Analytical Skills and Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to analyze complex data (ERP, dashboards) to extract trends, identify bottlenecks, and propose factual corrective/preventive actions.
Leadership and Problem Solving Under Constraint: Strong leadership skills to motivate/inspire teams and suppliers. Ability to quickly find creative and effective solutions in crisis situations or tight deadlines, while maintaining quality.
Negotiation and Strategic Priorities: Excellent negotiation skills to positively influence and prioritize critical BFE deliveries from suppliers, justifying the operational/financial impact to ensure the continuity of the A220 production chain.
Travel required: <5% national and international travel.
