Position Summary

As part of the industrialization of the A220 aircraft program with our partner/client, the primary role of the sought «Stress Engineer» profile is to ensure that stress analysis, within its scope, complies with certification requirements for the primary structure in static and fatigue. Knowledge of secondary structures and system installations is an asset. The stress engineer reports directly to the Calculations Team Leader and is responsible for:

  • Ensuring the technical scope is respected according to customer requirements, program needs and manufacturing requirements.
  • Participating in stress analyses of the primary and/or secondary structure within their scope.
  • Supporting technical decision-making related to primary structure stress analysis.
  • Supporting technical decision-making for fixed and movable supports.
  • Preparing main technical deliverables and ensuring their conformity with Airbus Atlantic and client requirements.
  • Participating in analysis and implementation.

Candidate Profile

  • Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in stress analysis of metallic primary structure (skin/frames/stringers...).
  • Knowledge of aeronautical calculation processes and methods (AIRBUS Atlantic, BOMBARDIER, AIRBUS Canada processes and methods).
  • Familiarity with Catia (viewing) and strong proficiency in NASTRAN, PATRAN (using existing models, extracting loads/stresses, ...).
  • VBA programming.
  • Experience in calculations for sheet metal and machined parts.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Languages: English (verbal and written) at a technical level; French (verbal) for team meetings and workplace interactions.
  • Attributes: Ability to work both in a team and independently; good listening and interpersonal skills; enthusiastic, enjoys a fast-paced environment and can respond calmly and quickly while delivering quality work.
