Project Manager - Systems

You have experience in aircraft development project management, you have worked in the aerospace sector and you want to evolve while developing new skills? This position is for you!

The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for a Project Management Business Partner (PMBP) to join its Project Management and Program team, located in the greater Montreal area (Quebec, Canada). You will work in close collaboration with various cross-functional teams.

You will be part of the aircraft development project managers team - Energy and Systems, whose mission is to provide a reliable reference framework based on best practices in project management and portfolio management. The team also provides a community of experts to foster optimal decision-making and contribute to the protection of the Program's objectives.

The team organization promotes cross-functional collaboration, autonomy, mutual support, and collective learning.

Your role

As a Project Manager / PMBP, you will be responsible for tracking and controlling the activities required for the success of the A220 program development projects, particularly regarding deadlines, costs, quality, and performance.

Your scope of intervention will initially focus on the IPT (Integrated Product Team) "Landing Gear and Electrical".

Your main responsibilities will notably include:

• Track development schedules with service partners;
• Support change management during the various development phases;
• Lead project management activities with the SYSTEM team;
• Facilitate weekly team reviews;
• Drive high-level and operational schedules;
• Ensure follow-up on actions;
• Facilitate the risk and opportunity management process;
• Track costs associated with the team's development projects.

Your challenges

• Be the strategic partner of the IPT (Integrated Product Team) lead in their responsibilities related to project deadlines, costs, quality, and performance;
• Promote effective decision-making based on operational needs and ensure the escalation of issues when necessary;
• Establish and manage IPT governance;
• Develop, harmonize, and update the roadmap in support of the PEP (Product Evolution Plan);
• Track internal and external project activities regarding deadlines, costs, quality, and performance;
• Develop, harmonize, and maintain integrated plans;
• Identify, document, and integrate lessons learned from projects;
• Ensure active management of risks and opportunities;
• Communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Your profile

• You hold a bachelor's degree in project management, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
• You demonstrate strong leadership qualities, autonomy, and a genuine desire to evolve professionally;
• You ideally possess 3 to 5 years of experience in project management or program management;
• You have a technical background in the aerospace field, particularly in aircraft development and/or operations;
• You possess good analytical, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
• You are comfortable communicating effectively with various stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams;
• You are proficient in French and English, both orally and in writing;
• You have a good command of the Google Suite as well as planning and project management tools.
