Position overview
Reporting to the Head of Projects, you will lead company projects related to the acquisition of equipment and tooling, and building fit-outs, ensuring delivery within the timelines and budgets allocated by the program. Daily work must comply with health and safety standards.
The Projects team is a group of passionate people who collaborate in a positive environment. Our mission is to meet challenges while prioritizing support for the production department in the assembly of aerospace products.
Responsibilities
Main duties include, but are not limited to:
- Act as the technical lead for works required for the acquisition of equipment and tooling.
- Manage the full project lifecycle and lead all phases from feasibility study and business case to implementation, production ramp-up and change management.
- Gather, analyze and challenge internal department needs to design technical solutions, prepare quotes and estimate costs.
- Draft specifications, run tender processes, evaluate supplier options and conduct factory visits.
- Strictly control schedules, deliverables and quality with external partners.
- Monitor budgets, develop risk management and mitigation plans, and maintain performance indicators (KPIs) up to date.
- Lead cost reduction and operational efficiency initiatives while optimizing internal project management processes.
Required skills and experience
- Experience in manufacturing and mechanical design.
- Experience in the aerospace sector and supporting medium-series production.
- Knowledge of assembly processes (key characteristics of simple or complex assembly tooling, capability analysis tools, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Proficiency in CATIA V5.
- Mastery of tolerancing principles and dimension chains.
- Ability to use and interpret aerospace standards (an asset).
- Knowledge of basic parts would be a plus.
- Familiarity with SAP and Microsoft Office.
- Proactive mindset, team spirit, responsiveness and attention to detail.
- French and English: spoken and written.
