Description

Location: Montreal, QC, Canada (on site)

Starting pay: $30.25 per hour (at pay scale step 5: $33.63 per hour) and the opportunity for overtime under our Collective Agreement.

Shift premium: evening shift - $0.50 per hour worked between 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Night shift - $1.00 per hour worked between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead a team of ramp agents responsible for ground services and baggage handling for aircraft, ensuring safety and on-time performance.
  • Provide direction, guidance, coaching and support while ensuring effective communications.
  • Adhere to company standards by consistently applying safety protocols and promoting a safety-focused culture within the team.
  • Make effective and timely decisions in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of baggage, including loading, unloading and matching connecting flights.
  • Coordinate with the connections team to facilitate baggage transfers, especially during tight connection periods.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience and ensure punctuality and operational efficiency.
  • Marshal or tow aircraft to gates for boarding and deplaning, and for loading/unloading baggage and cargo.
  • Operate and drive vehicles and equipment used for routine aircraft servicing.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of airport operations or ramp operations.
  • Strong leadership skills and communication abilities to delegate and execute critical tasks.
  • A strong commitment to safety while adhering to established standards and protocols.
  • Valid driver's license (operation of heavy ramp equipment will be required).
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 32 kg (70 lb).
  • Availability to work a permanent shift schedule within a 24-hour period, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to meet Air Canada medical standards, including drug and alcohol screening.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations (see Transport Canada for details).
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the country where the position is located at the time any offer is made; obtaining any required permits, visas or other authorizations is the responsibility of applicants.
