The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for Head Of Loads and Aeroelastics to join our engineering team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada).

You will be part of the Flight Physics team responsible for delivering optimized aircraft solutions to support overall aircraft architecture and integration. The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Your role as Head Of Loads and Aeroelastics will be to manage an engineering team in charge of the delivery of aircraft loads (static/fatigue), the validation of flight control laws, and the delivery aeroelastics analysis. You will also be responsible to ensure all processes, methods and tools necessary to your team are maintained while coordinating the development of methods and tools as needed.

Your challenges:

  • Developing and leading a team performing the load and aeroelastics activities necessary for the development and certification of the A220 modifications, the support to production and in-service operation,

  • Accountable for your team to deliver on time, cost, quality, performance and per safety requirements,

  • Ensuring collaboration and coordination with other engineering stakeholders outside the team for proper project execution,

  • Elaborating, maintaining and enhancing the integration/collaboration of your team with the relevant Airbus CoC in Europe, in terms of ways of working, processes, methods and tools,

  • Helping your team grow both in terms of technical skills/know-how and career perspective; in collaboration with the relevant Airbus CoC in Europe,

  • Fostering good cooperation with other functions; particularly with the Chief Engineering teams,

  • Providing managerial leadership in the decision making process,

  • Developing and planning the budget and resource (capacity and capability) needs for your team, including make or buy policies, in accordance with the CoC strategy and commitments and in partnership with the relevant Airbus COC in Europe,

  • Building a network and a local partnership for innovation and Research & Development in line with the overall Airbus strategy.

Your boarding pass:

  • You have a Bachelor or Master University degree in Engineering.

  • You have at least 10 of experience in the Aerospace industry and at least 5 years of experience in loads and aeroelastics.

  • You show strong leadership skills in line with the Airbus leadership model and values.

  • You have engineering experience in one or more Aircraft development programs.

  • You have experience in technical team management.

  • You are resourceful and able to find creative ways to achieve desired outcome, adapting to rapidly changing situations and emerging obstacles.

  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with subject matter experts.

  • You possess strong project and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • You take responsibility for expected technical results and maintain a high level of personal commitment in order to successfully deliver within deadlines.

  • You have good analytical, problem resolution and decision-making skills.

  • You are able to simplify complex issues and summarize risks, key actions and next steps.

  • You have good oral and writing skills in English and French.
