You will be responsible for certain product development projects with the goal of ensuring that the supply chain is ready for new aircraft programs, working closely with the strategic purchasing, engineering, and program teams.
You will act as a liaison between product development teams, the business unit, the supplier, and strategic commodity procurement teams. Specifically, your responsibilities will be:
- Responsible for a team of procurement agents.
- Responsible for managing multiple commodities during the various phases of product development.
- Act as a project manager and ensure that the activity schedules of the procurement groups are met.
- Be responsible for contractual negotiations with external suppliers as part of the change management process.
- Represent the supply chain department within the various Integrated Product Development Teams (IPDT).
- Ensure project visibility and follow-up within the supply chain team and the various functions of the business unit.
- Support commodity teams in developing commodity strategies for programs under development and in formulating commercial agreements with suppliers.
- Plan and monitor the team's balanced scorecard and key performance indicators.
- Coach & support employees in all their activities.
- Develop good relationships with strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders in relation to business needs.
How to thrive in this role?
- You hold a bachelor's degree in business administration or engineering. Postgraduate university training is an asset, particularly an MBA or a master's degree in engineering.
- You have at least ten (10) years of experience in the aerospace industry; fifteen (15) years or more is an asset.
- You have a proven track record in effectively coordinating and managing a team; you have a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a direct supervisor, which is an asset.
- You demonstrate mastery of leadership skills: providing clear direction, leading change, inspiring trust, generating results and performance, and building effective teams.
- You possess demonstrated experience in supplier negotiation.
- You are able to demonstrate solid technical knowledge of aircraft.
- You have acquired direct experience in development programs or program management, which is an asset.
- You demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- You possess excellent communication and influencing skills and are able to work daily in French and English.
- You are able to work primarily on-site, on a regular basis, at one of our Montreal area facilities.
- You are available to travel up to 25% of the time for your work, within Canada and internationally, as needed.
