We are looking for someone to fill the position of Product Manager - Marketing Technology who will be responsible for marketing activation within Air Canada's Marketing Technology team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of the platform strategy for Adobe Campaign Classic and Adobe Journey Optimizer within the Marketing Technology organization: roadmap, prioritization, platform standards, and hands-on configuration of activation elements (workflows, journeys, integrations, and templates).
They will optimize the platform capabilities that the Marketing Operations team uses to manage emails and trigger-based journeys. They will lead product and platform activation and assume responsibility for product direction and hands-on work related to the platform, but will not be responsible for day-to-day campaign management.
The Marketing Technology team owns the platforms. The Marketing Operations team executes campaigns using these platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for making the activation process reliable, compliant, and easy to adopt.
Responsibilities:
Product Strategy and Leadership
- Define and maintain the product vision and roadmap for Adobe Campaign Classic and Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO).
- Help establish standards for batch emails (Campaign) versus real-time and triggered communications (AJO).
- Manage key performance indicators related to adoption: launch schedule, workflow reuse, deliverability, journey productivity, maturity of Marketing Operations self-serve tools.
- Develop business cases and present them to the Marketing and Technology leadership team.
- Manage the relationship with Adobe for Campaign and Journey Optimizer tools.
- Represent the Activation team in steering forums with Marketing, Data, IT, and Privacy teams, as well as with senior management members.
Adobe Campaign Classic (Strategy and Execution)
- Assume responsibility for product direction and hands-on usage activities of our core email platform.
- Lead migrations: assessment, planning, development, testing, transition, intensive support, and steady state.
- Design and maintain workflow templates, targeting standards, typologies, and models for the Message Center.
- Develop and optimize workflows, implementations, SQL targeting, and personalization rules, and troubleshoot technical issues affecting these aspects.
- Help optimize deliverability: introductory emails, bounce and suppression management, operational service level agreements with the Marketing Operations team.
Adobe Journey Optimizer (Strategy and Execution)
- Assume responsibility for product direction in AJO and hands-on implementation related to journey design, triggers, and messaging.
- Configure journeys, events, offer decisions, and real-time use cases (e.g., enterprise messages, lifecycle triggers).
- Enable the Marketing Operations team through training, operating guides, and operating procedures.
- Partner with marketing experience platform teams as needed for AJO offers and offer flows.
Cross-Platform Activation
- Ensure user choices regarding consent and suppressions on the customer data platform are applied before sending to both tools.
- Design and verify activation data flows from the customer data platform to Campaign and AJO tools; define data contracts and latency expectations with IT and vendors.
- Document platform configuration, dependencies, and operating guides to reduce single-key-person risk.
- Promote change management to foster adoption of standards and reusable templates within the Marketing Operations team.
Qualifications
What You Will Bring:
We value strategy and hands-on platform knowledge.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in marketing technology, product management, or technical product ownership.
- At least four years of hands-on experience with Adobe Campaign Classic in a production environment: workflows, implementations, templates, targeting, troubleshooting.
- At least two years of hands-on experience with Adobe Journey Optimizer or comparable journey design within an enterprise (e.g., Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Journeys, Responsys).
- Ability to embrace the roadmap and execute on both platforms, rather than delegating all design work.
- Strong SQL experience; ability to debug audience accounts and sync issues between the customer data platform and activation tools.
- Collaborate to align Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) XDM schemas with Adobe Campaign Classic relational data models to ensure seamless profile merging.
- Experience writing scripts in Adobe Campaign workflows (JavaScript or equivalent) and experience configuring journeys.
- Knowledge of email deliverability fundamentals and CASL in marketing activities.
- Experience leading a major platform migration or upgrade (Adobe Campaign v7 to v8 is a strong asset).
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to foster overall team success in a fast-paced environment.

- Influential communication skills within matrixed organizations.
- All things being equal, preference will be given to bilingual candidates (French and English).

Assets:
- Activation of Adobe Experience Platform audiences in Campaign and AJO.
- Message Center and high volumes of enterprise emails.
- AJO offers and offer decision APIs.
- Certification for Adobe Campaign or Journey Optimizer.
- Knowledge of tag management or web activation as it relates to email and journey triggers.
Employment Conditions:
Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time an offer of employment is presented and are responsible for obtaining necessary work permits, visas, or other authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided before the start date.
