As an AI Product Manager, you will be responsible for the strategy, roadmap, prioritization, and lifecycle management of Air Canada's AI products. You will work at the intersection of business strategy, customer needs, data, and technology to identify opportunities where artificial intelligence can create a competitive advantage and measurable business value.

You will work closely with business leaders, data scientists, AI engineers, architects, user experience (UX) specialists, governance teams, and delivery partners to shape product vision, define investment priorities, and guide products from ideation to deployment, adoption, and value realization.

To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate strong product vision, sharp business acumen, and a solid understanding of modern AI capabilities and development lifecycles. Although this is not a software development role, the successful candidate must understand how AI models, agents, copilots, data assets, user experiences, and operational workflows come together to create scalable and distinctive products.

The successful candidate looks beyond individual AI features and understands how AI capabilities, data assets, user workflows, and business processes must articulate to create scalable products that provide Air Canada with measurable business value and a sustainable competitive advantage.

Responsibilities:

Product Strategy and Vision

  • Define and maintain the vision, strategy, and roadmap for assigned AI products.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI to improve customer experience, operational performance, revenue generation, and profitability.
  • Develop and maintain business cases that demonstrate expected value, strategic alignment, and the justification of investments in our AI products.
  • Monitor industry trends, competing offerings, and new AI capabilities to guide product evolution and preserve Air Canada's competitive advantage.
  • Define success metrics and value realization objectives for AI products.

Product Lifecycle Management

  • Take ownership of the entire lifecycle of AI products, from ideation to deployment, adoption, optimization, and retirement.
  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to ensure product roadmaps balance short-term value creation with long-term strategic goals.
  • Manage product trade-offs and investment decisions throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure delivered capabilities align with product objectives and expected business outcomes.
  • Monitor product performance and continually identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Feature Definition and Prioritization

  • Gather, refine, and prioritize product features, AI capabilities, and improvement opportunities that support product vision and business goals.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, users, and delivery teams to translate strategic objectives into a clear, value-driven product backlog.
  • Define feature objectives, expected outcomes, and success criteria.
  • Evaluate and prioritize features based on customer value, business impact, strategic alignment, technical feasibility, scalability, risk, and required effort.
  • Continually re-evaluate priorities based on business needs, user feedback, product performance, and evolving market opportunities.
  • Provide delivery teams with the business context, guidance, and clarity necessary throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Ensure features are appropriately sequenced to maximize value realization while fostering long-term product evolution.

AI Product Leadership

  • Act as the primary owner for AI products.
  • Acquire a deep understanding of AI product development, including machine learning, generative AI, AI agents, copilots, and model lifecycle management.
  • Understand how AI capabilities, data assets, workflows, and user experiences must be integrated to create effective and scalable products.
  • Collaborate with Data Science, AI Engineering, Architecture, User Experience, and Governance teams to guide product evolution and delivery plans.
  • Ensure products are designed with scalability, operational viability, governance, risk management, privacy, and security in mind.

Stakeholder Management and Value Realization

  • Establish strong relationships with business stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor regarding AI product opportunities.
  • Lead product discovery workshops and business engagement sessions.
  • Communicate product strategy and roadmaps, investment recommendations, and achieved results to business stakeholders and senior management.
  • Lead product adoption and change management activities to maximize business value.
  • Measure product success based on adoption, business outcomes, operational impact, and customer value creation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least five years of experience in product management, digital products, AI products, data products, or related technology functions.
  • Experience defining product vision, strategy, and roadmaps as well as investment priorities.
  • Experience delivering AI, machine learning, generative AI, analytics, or data-driven products.
  • Experience developing business cases and supporting investment decision-making.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
  • Strong understanding of modern AI technologies, including machine learning, generative AI, large language models, AI agents, copilots, and enterprise AI platforms.
  • Understanding of AI product development lifecycles, from experimentation to deployment, monitoring, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to evaluate opportunities and prioritize investments based on business value, feasibility, scalability, risk, and strategic alignment.
  • Knowledge of responsible AI principles, data governance, privacy, security, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of cloud technology platforms and modern product development practices.
  • Sharp business acumen and strong strategic thinking capability.
