The Product Manager - Health Care Solutions - Air Canada Cargo is responsible for the strategy, development, commercialization, lifecycle management, and growth of Air Canada Cargo’s health care and life sciences product portfolio. They translate health care market requirements, customer needs, priority lane opportunities, and operational capabilities into product strategies, improvements, and growth plans that support revenue, profitability, customer value, and market competitiveness. As the company’s health care logistics expert, the Product Manager collaborates with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Marketing, and Revenue Management teams, as well as external stakeholders, to ensure products are commercially viable, operationally feasible, and delivered consistently.
Responsibilities:
Product Strategy and Portfolio Management
- Assume responsibility for the strategy, development, commercialization, lifecycle management, and growth of Air Canada Cargo’s health care and life sciences product portfolio.
- Identify market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive trends to drive product growth and innovation.
- Collaborate with regional Revenue Management and Sales teams to determine health care priority lanes, customer segments, and growth opportunities; align business objectives, prospecting priorities, pricing considerations, and product growth plans with capacity.
- Develop business cases and recommendations regarding product investments, improvements, and portfolio evolution.
- Monitor product performance and recommend measures to improve customer value and business results.
Product Development and Commercialization
- Monitor market, regulatory, and customer trends in health care to identify opportunities for innovation, product improvement, and portfolio growth.
- Lead the development and implementation of new products, services, and improvements, including defining requirements, customer value propositions, service standards, and operational needs.
- Collaborate with Commercial Affairs and Marketing teams to support product positioning, launch, and commercialization activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and the customer experience.
Product Governance and Cross-Functional Leadership
- Act as a liaison between Commercial Affairs and Operations to ensure products are commercially viable and operationally feasible.
- Maintain product integrity by aligning customer commitments, operational capabilities, and service delivery standards.
- Ensure products are positioned, sold, and delivered consistently across the company. Promote the voice of the customer in product decision-making.
Product Expertise and Deployment
- Act as the company’s health care logistics expert, ensuring product offerings meet industry requirements, quality standards, and customer needs.
- Ensure the updating of product standards, commercial documentation, training materials, and knowledge resources.
- Provide product expertise and support to Commercial Affairs, Operations, Customer Service, and Marketing teams.
- Support strategic customer commitments through product advice and solution development.
Business Development and Partnerships
- Establish strategic partnerships and represent Air Canada Cargo within the health care logistics industry to strengthen market positioning and foster product adoption.
- Drive product-led growth, customer opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
- Identify opportunities to increase product adoption within existing and targeted customer segments.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen Air Canada Cargo’s product portfolio and market position.
Qualifications
- At least five years of experience in product management, product marketing, business development, business strategy, logistics, aviation, or a related field.
- Experience in pharmaceutical logistics, health care supply chains, life sciences, biotechnology, or temperature-controlled transport.
- Knowledge of CEIV Pharma, good distribution practices, health care quality standards, and pharmaceutical supply chain requirements.
- Experience working with health care product manufacturers, distributors, logistics service providers, or freight forwarders.
- Proven experience in leading cross-functional initiatives and projects.
- Experience in developing business cases and supporting commercialization activities.
- Experience in influencing stakeholders and achieving results without direct authority.
- Knowledge of cargo operations and logistics solutions is an asset.
- Strong product management and commercialization skills.
- Strategic mindset and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance customer needs, business objectives, and operational realities.
- Strong business acumen and customer-centric attitude.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, domestically and internationally.
- Proficiency in applications such as Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Salesforce CRM system, and business intelligence tools.
