The Product Manager, Cargo Solutions is responsible for the strategy, development, commercialization, lifecycle management, and growth of assigned products within the Air Canada Cargo product portfolio. They translate market requirements, customer needs, priority queue opportunities, and operational capabilities into strategies, improvements, and product growth plans that support revenue, profitability, customer value, and market competitiveness. As a subject matter expert for their assigned company products, the Product Manager collaborates with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Marketing, and Revenue Management teams, as well as external stakeholders, to ensure products are commercially viable, operationally achievable, and delivered consistently.

Responsibilities:

Strategy and Product Line Management

  • Assume responsibility for the strategy, development, commercialization, lifecycle, and growth of assigned product lines.
  • Determine market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive trends to drive product growth and innovation.
  • Collaborate with regional Revenue Management and Sales teams to determine priority queues for products, customer segments, and growth opportunities; align business objectives, prospecting priorities, pricing considerations, and product growth plans with capacity.
  • Develop business cases and recommendations regarding product investments, improvements, and portfolio evolution.
  • Monitor product performance and recommend measures to improve customer value and business results.

Product Development and Commercialization

  • Monitor market, regulatory, and customer trends to identify opportunities for innovation, product improvement, and portfolio growth.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new products, services, and improvements, including defining requirements, customer value propositions, service standards, and operational needs.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Affairs and Marketing teams to support product positioning, launch, and commercialization activities.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and customer experience.

Product Governance and Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as a liaison between Commercial Affairs and Operations to ensure products are commercially viable and operationally achievable.
  • Maintain product integrity by aligning customer commitments, operational capabilities, and service delivery standards.
  • Ensure products are positioned, sold, and delivered consistently across the company.
  • Promote the voice of the customer in product decision-making.

Product Expertise and Deployment

  • Act as a subject matter expert for assigned company products and solutions, ensuring that product offerings meet industry requirements, quality standards, and customer needs.
  • Ensure the updating of product standards, as well as commercial documentation, training materials, and knowledge resources.
  • Provide product expertise and support to Commercial Affairs, Operations, Customer Service, and Marketing teams.
  • Support strategic customer engagements through product advice and solution development.

Business Development and Partnerships

  • Establish strategic partnerships and represent Air Canada Cargo within the logistics industry to strengthen market positioning and foster product adoption.
  • Foster product-driven growth, customer opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
  • Identify opportunities to increase product adoption within existing and targeted customer segments.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen Air Canada Cargo's product portfolio and market position.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of experience in product management, product marketing, business development, business strategy, logistics, aviation, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional initiatives and projects.
  • Experience developing business cases and supporting commercialization activities.
  • Experience influencing stakeholders and achieving results without direct authority.
  • Knowledge of cargo operations and logistics solutions, an asset.
  • Strong product management and commercialization skills.
  • Strategic mindset and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance customer needs, business objectives, and operational realities.
  • Strong business acumen and customer-centric attitude.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, domestically and internationally.
  • Proficiency in applications such as Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Salesforce CRM, and business intelligence tools.

Employment Conditions:
