We are looking for a Product Lead to join Air Canada’s Marketing Technology team. This position is at the intersection of data, identity, consent and customer activation, the foundations on which the personalization of our digital and in-flight platforms is based. On a daily basis, this person will verify and shape end-to-end data flows across our entire marketing technology ecosystem, partner with engineering teams and vendors, and contribute hands-on to platform initiatives.
They will evaluate the work related to the Adobe platform as a whole, including tag management, real-time customer data platform profile management and audience work, as well as integration into the multichannel orchestration platform, where applicable.
Responsibilities:
What you will do:
Design end-to-end data flows.
- Design and verify how customer data, identity and consent and booking and flight context between source systems, our enterprise data center, our real-time customer data platform, our consent management platform, our cloud data warehouse and downstream activation channels (Web, mobile app, email, in-flight).
Translate ambiguous business requests into integration design.
- Define data contracts, application program interfaces, identifiers, and latency expectations between platforms and vendors.
- Draft documents that make the design clear to engineers, vendors and stakeholders.
Collaborate with engineers and vendors.
- Work closely with our internal Marketing Technology, Data and Engineering teams, as well as external vendors (platform vendors, marketing platform vendors, data platform partners).
- Be vigilant about the simplest viable contract as well as the minimization and protection of data and personal information.
Qualifications
What you will bring (the skills that matter):
- We focus more on your underlying skills than on the precise tools or technologies you have used. We are looking for someone who can bring experience in several of the following areas:
Solution architecture for data-rich customer systems:
- You have designed how customer data flows across multiple systems and how identifiers combine. You understand profiles, audiences, segments, and the difference between batch activation, near real-time activation, and edge network activation.
Identity resolution:
- You have worked with hashed identifiers, deterministic and probabilistic assembly, member and guest profile models, retention policies, and the operational realities of identity drift over time.
Customer data platform concepts (real-time or not):
- You understand the architecture of a modern customer data platform (schemas, identity namespace, segmentation engines, destinations), even if your direct experience is on a different platform than ours.
Audience modeling in a cloud data warehouse:
- You understand how marketing audiences are calculated in a warehouse (e.g., Snowflake) and presented in a customer data platform for activation.
Multi-channel marketing activation:
- You understand how different audiences are activated on the web, mobile devices, by email and on emerging platforms.
Tag management fundamentals:
- You understand client-side instruments, data layers, event taxonomies, and how a tag manager integrates into a broader analytics and activation stack.
Pragmatism over perfection:
- You prefer the simplest design that meets the requirement and survives change. You know when to resist scope creep and when to accept a small change to maintain momentum.
Reliability:
- Proven punctuality and reliability to drive overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
Work experience:
- At least five years of relevant experience, with a preference for the travel industry, hospitality industry or loyalty sector; understand how passenger data, flight context and operational systems differ from those of a typical e-commerce stack.
Assets:
- Direct experience with the Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) – schemas, identity namespaces, segments, destinations, limit segmentation. Experience with AEP, a significant asset.
- Direct experience with Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), particularly migrations from Adobe Campaign Classic. You don't need to have it on day one, we'll develop it with you.
- Direct experience with Adobe Campaign Classic (v7 or v8).
- Experience with Adobe Launch (or comparable tag management: Teamium, GTM).
- Experience with data warehouse or cloud data warehouse for marketing audience modeling.
- Experience with consent management platform, including consent processes taking into account the Transparency and Consent Framework.
Employment Conditions:
Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time an employment offer is made and are responsible for obtaining the necessary work permits, visas or other authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided before the start date.
Language Requirements
All things being equal, preference will be given to bilingual candidates.

As an employer that guarantees equal access to employment, we encourage the most diverse applications in order to build a varied workforce representative of our customers and the communities where we live and offer our services.
Air Canada thanks all candidates for their interest, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
