The Accounts - Air Canada Cargo department is the primary point of contact for all internal and external inquiries for Air Canada Cargo in the United Kingdom. It works closely with Customer Service to ensure that all customer shipments are billed efficiently and accurately. The incumbent will be required to demonstrate investigative skills to verify the legitimacy of customer billing requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Log all external and internal customer requests received and take appropriate action.
  • Ensure that the charges appearing on the air waybill are accurate with respect to import and export shipments and shipments from Ireland.
  • Work closely with Customer Service to eliminate billing errors.
  • Contact customers to approve or reject their adjustment requests. Prepare freight charge adjustments, if necessary, using Word and Excel software.
  • Prepare Cargo Accounts Settlement System (CASS) adjustments as needed and ensure data is recorded in the freight accounting system (CITRIX).
  • Prepare freight documents to be uploaded into the Air Canada Cargo Document Management System (Odiss).
  • Provide support to the Accounts - Air Canada Cargo Coordinator and Senior Accounts Clerk and temporarily replace them as needed.
  • Verify daily data generated by CASS from Citrix, then prepare and request CASS adjustments using Word and Excel software.
  • Identify all charges appearing in CASS reports affecting import and export shipments and shipments from Ireland.
  • Perform related tasks pertaining to Accounts - Air Canada Cargo as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with online training offered by Air Canada University.

Qualifications

  • Cargo experience an asset
  • Candidates must have the permanent and unrestricted right to live and work in the United Kingdom
  • Experience with WebLynx, CITRIX and Microsoft Office suite an asset
  • Security training by the DfT (Department for Transport)

Conditions of Employment:

Candidates must be eligible to work in the country in question at the time an offer of employment is presented and are responsible for obtaining work permits, visas or other necessary authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided prior to the start date.

Linguistic Requirements

Oral and written communication skills in English.
