Job Description:

As part of the industrialization of the A220 aircraft program with our partner/client, the primary role of the "Composite Designer" is to ensure that the design of the primary structure, secondary structure design, and systems installations within their scope comply with technical requirements.

Missions:

• Ensure that the technical scope is strictly respected according to client requirements, program needs, and manufacturing requirements;
• Participate in the design of the primary structure, secondary structure, and systems installations within their scope:

  • Make technical decisions related to the design of the primary structure
  • Make technical decisions for fixed and mobile supports
  • Make technical decisions for all assigned system installations
  • Make necessary technical decisions concerning the design, manufacturing, installation, and verification of parts and assemblies
  • Develop and verify test plans with laboratories. Verify test reports and analyze results

• Prepare key technical deliverables and ensure compliance of technical deliverables according to Airbus Atlantic requirements and those of the client (technical solutions, plan verification, qualification and certification reports, etc.);
• Deliver part plans and installation plans while respecting delivery commitments in terms of time and quality to clients (internal and external).
• Provide visibility on the technical scope to management and the program (technical syntheses, technical progress status, identification of technical risks);
• Participate in change analysis and implementation with the program, supply chain, production, and clients;
• Prepare change incorporation impact analyses;
• Ensure the technical interface with their counterpart at the client as well as the technical interface with suppliers;
• Support the resolution of part non-conformance issues and assembly line problems;

PROFILE SOUGHT
Special Requirements

• Bachelor's/Master's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering,
• Knowledge of composite and metallic primary structure design (an asset), secondary structure, and systems installations
• Knowledge of aeronautical design processes and methods (AIRBUS Atlantic, BOMBARDIER, AIRBUS Canada Processes and Methods)
• Strong mastery of Catia/Enovia, Fibersim
• Experience in composite part design and manufacturing
• Experience in sheet metal and machined part design and manufacturing would be an asset
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and requirements related to primary and secondary structure manufacturing
• Knowledge of configuration management rules
• Knowledge/awareness of tolerancing (GD&T)
• Possesses good written and oral communication skills,
• Bilingual English / French (verbal and written)
