As part of the industrialization of the A220 aircraft program with our partner/client, the primary role of the "Composite Designer" is to ensure that the design of the primary structure, secondary structures, and system installations within their scope complies with technical requirements.
Missions:
• Ensure that the technical scope is strictly respected according to client requirements, program needs, and manufacturing requirements;
• Participate in the design of the primary structure, secondary structure, and system installations within its scope:
- Make technical decisions related to the design of the primary structure
- Make technical decisions for fixed and mobile supports
- Make technical decisions for all system installations assigned to them.
- Make necessary technical decisions regarding the design, manufacturing, installation, and verification of parts and assemblies
- Develop and verify test plans with laboratories. Verify test reports and analyze results
• Prepare key technical deliverables and ensure compliance of technical deliverables following Airbus Atlantic and client requirements (technical solutions, plan verification, qualification and certification reports, etc.);
• Deliver part drawings and installation drawings while respecting delivery commitments in terms of time and quality towards clients (internal and external).
• Provide visibility on the technical scope to management and the program (technical syntheses, technical progress status, identification of technical risks);
• Participate in the analysis and implementation of changes with the program, supply chain, production, and clients;
• Prepare change incorporation impact analyses;
• Ensure the technical interface vis-a-vis its counterpart at the client as well as the technical interface with suppliers;
• Support the resolution of part non-conformity issues and assembly line problems;
DESIRED PROFILE
Special Requirements
• Bachelor's/Master's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering,
• Knowledge in composite and metallic primary structure design (an asset), secondary structure, and system installations
• Knowledge of aeronautical design processes and methods (AIRBUS Atlantic, BOMBARDIER, AIRBUS Canada Processes and Methods)
• Good command of Catia/Enovia, Fibersim
• Experience in design and manufacturing of composite parts
• Experience in design and manufacturing of sheet metal and machined parts would be an asset
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and requirements related to the manufacture of primary and secondary structures
• Knowledge of configuration management rules
• Knowledge/awareness of tolerancing (GD&T)
• Has good written and oral communication skills,
• Bilingual English / French (verbal and written)

• Possesses good interpersonal skills and knows how to adapt communication to the relevant interlocutor, whether internally or towards the client encountered on a daily basis. As such, their persuasive strength allows them to argue on technical aspects with courtesy and pedagogy.
