We are currently looking for a mechanical designer to join our teams in Boucherville.

The incumbent is responsible for the design and 3D modeling of parts and/or assemblies. In addition, they produce 2D drawings from the 3D model while complying with the technical drawing standards of the client or MSB.

Responsibilities

TASKS YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR 🎯

  • Conduct feasibility studies related to the design, operation, and performance of parts, mechanisms, and systems.
  • Participate in the development of innovative new products that meet the very high expectations of customers, while achieving internal targets related to cost, reliability, and performance requirements.
  • Obtain all necessary standards and regulatory documentation related to research and development activities.
  • Participate in project planning and may be required to lead projects.
  • Prepare cost and schedule estimates, technical reports, and design specifications.
  • Design parts and systems.
  • Generate the necessary drawing information and specifications to support assembly while meeting cost, quality, and reliability requirements.
  • Prepare contractual documents and evaluate bids or proposals.
  • Supervise technicians and other designers/engineers (when applicable) and review and approve designs, calculations, and cost estimates.
  • Optimize designs to ensure system competitiveness and propose solutions aligned with recognized industry best practices.

Requirements

YOUR PROFILE IS ESSENTIAL TO OUR SUCCESS 💎

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a mechanical or aerospace engineering role.
  • Diploma in engineering
  • Experience in the manufacturing of aerospace mechanical products (an asset)
  • Mandatory proficiency in Catia V5.
  • Bilingual (spoken and written) in French and English to communicate with English-speaking clients (approximately 50% of the time).
  • Innovative and focused on continuous improvement.
  • Practical, resourceful personality with a hands-on approach.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including how they are assembled and built.
  • Good knowledge of material properties and how to apply them appropriately.
  • Understanding of load distribution within systems and consideration of these factors in design and approach.
  • Strong skills in priority management, attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
