Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the A220 Cockpit Design Supervisor, the senior mechanical designer in engineering has the primary mission of ensuring the performance of a team of 5-10 mechanical designers.
Your challenges:
Ensure that the design of the primary structure, secondary structures, and systems installations within its perimeter complies with technical and customer requirements, program needs, and manufacturing requirements
Disseminate major technical input data within the design team regarding its perimeter (client requirements, program requirements, boundary drawings, standard list, etc.)
Coordinate and organize the various activities of its team
Ensure that priorities are strictly respected by the technical team for which it is responsible
Ensure that its team delivers all deliverables within cost, quality, and time objectives
Establish and monitor indicators used to demonstrate team performance (e.g., OTD, OQD, EVM)
Prepare and provide a report on the progress and technical issues/risks for which it is responsible
Ensure the development of junior engineers through mentoring
Organize and maintain good cohesion within the group
Participate in the analysis and implementation of changes with the program, supply chain, production, and clients
Validate change incorporation impact analyses
Ensure technical interface with its counterpart at the client as well as technical interface with suppliers
Intervene and provide expertise to resolve parts non-conformance issues and assembly line problems
Provide visibility on the technical perimeter to management and the program (technical syntheses, technical progress status, identification of technical risks)
Your profile:
Bachelor's/Master's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering
Minimum of 10 years of experience in aerostructure design
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and requirements related to the design and fabrication of primary structures, secondary structures, and systems installations
Knowledge of airworthiness requirements (TCCA, FAA, EASA) impacting aerostructures and systems installations
Knowledge of aeronautical design processes and methods (Airbus Atlantic, Bombardier, Airbus Canada processes and methods)
Knowledge of configuration management rules
Mastery of CATIA and ENOVIA
Good written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of project management and change management
Bilingual English / French (verbal and written)
