We are supporting our client, a leader in the aeronautical industry, in the recruitment of an Intermediate Structure and System Installation Designer.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the technical perimeter is properly respected according to client requirements, program needs, and manufacturing requirements.
- Participate in the design of primary structures, secondary structures, and system installations within their perimeter:
- Make technical decisions related to primary structure design.
- Make technical decisions for fixed and mobile supports.
- Make technical decisions for all assigned system installations.
- Make necessary technical decisions concerning the design, manufacture, installation, and verification of parts and assemblies.
- Develop and verify test plans with laboratories, verify test reports, and analyze results.
- Prepare key technical deliverables and ensure their compliance with client requirements (technical solutions, plan verification, qualification and certification reports, etc.).
- Deliver part plans and installation plans while respecting delivery commitments, quality, and schedules with internal and external clients.
- Provide visibility on the technical perimeter to management and the program (technical syntheses, progress status, identification of technical risks).
- Participate in the analysis and implementation of changes with program teams, the supply chain, production, and clients.
- Prepare impact analyses related to change integration.
- Ensure technical interface with the client as well as suppliers.
- Support the resolution of part non-conformities and issues encountered on the assembly line.
As part of a strategic project, the designer will also assume an integrator / project manager role for subcontracted work. In this capacity, they will be responsible for:
- Ensure the management of engineering development projects and ensure compliance with commitments from various stakeholders until project implementation.
- Be a force of proposal to implement a recovery plan when necessary.
- Prepare project planning, ensure schedule maintenance, track costs, and produce progress reports.
- Actively participate in governance meetings and follow-up meetings.
Profile Sought
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering or aeronautical engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aerostructure design.
- Knowledge of metallic and composite primary structure design (an asset), secondary structures, and system installations.
- Knowledge of aeronautical design processes and methods.
- Excellent command of CATIA V5 and ENOVIA.
- Experience in the design and manufacturing of sheet metal and machined parts.
- Experience in the design and manufacturing of composite parts (an asset).
- Experience in MRB design (an asset).
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and requirements related to primary and secondary structures.
- Good knowledge of configuration management rules.
- 3 years of experience in project management or as an integrator is an asset.
- Knowledge or awareness of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Bilingualism in French and English, orally and in writing.
