Job Description

We are supporting our client, a leader in the aerospace industry, in recruiting a Systems and Structures Designer.

The main role is to ensure that the design of the primary structure, secondary structures, and system installations complies with technical requirements, program needs, and manufacturing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the technical scope is fully respected according to client requirements, program needs, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Participate in the design of the primary structure, secondary structures, and system installations within their scope.
  • Make technical decisions related to the design of the primary structure.
  • Make technical decisions regarding fixed and mobile supports.
  • Make technical decisions for the system installations assigned to them.
  • Make technical decisions regarding the design, manufacturing, installation, and verification of parts and assemblies.
  • Develop and verify test plans with laboratories, analyze results, and validate test reports.
  • Prepare key technical deliverables and ensure their conformity with client requirements (technical solutions, plan verification, qualification and certification reports, etc.).
  • Produce part and installation plans while respecting deadlines, quality, and commitments to internal and external clients.
  • Provide visibility on the technical scope to hierarchy and the program (technical summaries, progress, risk identification).
  • Participate in the analysis and implementation of changes with program, production, supply chain, supplier, and client teams.
  • Prepare impact analyses related to the integration of changes.
  • Ensure technical interface with client representatives and suppliers.
  • Support the resolution of non-conformities of parts as well as problems encountered on the assembly line.

Desired Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or aeronautical engineering.
  • 2 to 8 years of experience in primary aeronautical structure design.
  • Knowledge of metallic and composite primary structure design (an asset), secondary structures, and system installations.
  • Knowledge of aeronautical design processes and methods.
  • Excellent command of CATIA and ENOVIA.
  • Experience in designing and manufacturing sheet metal and machined parts.
  • Experience in designing and manufacturing composite parts (an asset).
  • Experience in MRB design (an asset).
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes related to primary and secondary structures.
  • Knowledge of configuration management rules.
  • Awareness or knowledge of geometric tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Advanced level in French and English, both oral and written. English is required for exchanges with clients, international suppliers, and for reading technical documentation.
