The P&WC Turbine Design group is responsible for the design of all Turbine components (Disc, Blade, Vane, Case, Bearing Cavity, Exhaust, Shroud Segment, various Seal….) as well as conducting preliminary structural analyses. Our responsibilities extend from preliminary design to field engine support.

You will be part of a team of specialists in the Turbine Design department.

This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Longueuil, and performed exclusively on-site.

Areas of Expertise:

What will your day-to-day look like?

• Generate innovative mechanical design solutions for gas turbine engine (turbofan, turboprop, and turboshaft) problems, ensuring the program cost, weight, and performance requirements are met.
• Lead, co-ordinate and schedule Integrated Product Teams (IPT) covering all design activities during the detail design phase.
• Document the IPT’s activities in a design job package that includes producing engineering layout drawings, equipment specifications, technical memos, and support manufacturing and engine development after the detail design phase.
• Prepare CAD models.
• Solve mechanical design problems on field engines.
• Design mechanical architectures and cross-sections for new engines.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate design and analytical activities.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams during the design phase.
• Produce engineering documents to communicate solutions to mechanical design problems.

What do you need to be successful?

• To have completed a Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering Bachelor degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience. Membership in the OIQ is recommended.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical design.
• General knowledge of engineering disciplines (aerodynamics, heat transfer, structures, dynamics).
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods and proficiency in CATIA software would be an asset.
• This position is in a French-speaking work environment, however it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms originating from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with clients, suppliers, or international colleagues.
