What your daily routine will look like

General job responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be required to work from drawings, work methods, sketches, or verbal instructions concerning the methods and equipment to be used, to set up, operate, and adjust numerical control robots for new engine parts or the correction of used or new parts. They will also:

  • Perform dimensional and visual checks on parts using precision measuring instruments such as verification gauges and keep appropriate records up to date.
  • Perform tasks on parts currently being machined.
  • Wash, preserve, package, and move parts while ensuring compliance with part standards and specifications.
  • Perform maintenance routines to ensure, among other things, that fluid levels are adequate, filters are clean, and the general condition of the machine complies with the checklist.
  • Participate in training and share knowledge with teammates.
  • Organize and maintain their workstation in order and respect our high standard of health and safety at work.

Specific responsibilities

  • Prepare and adjust parts and equipment for the application of protective coatings or to rebuild a surface based on various complex drawings, sketches, numerical control machine programs, manufacturing processes, specifications, and other verbal and written instructions.
  • Use cleaning, heat treatment, or other processes to eliminate various contaminants.
  • Visually inspect surfaces to be rebuilt to ensure cleanliness.
  • Prepare surfaces by abrasion.
  • Mount, install, adjust, stabilize, and balance the part on the rotary table or other support required for metallization.
  • Set up, operate, and adjust plasma spray machines to ensure the condition and compliance of the equipment to meet the required specifications according to specific coating application schedules.
  • May be required to modify parameters in programming.
  • Apply maintenance procedures such as torch alignment, leak detection, and injector adjustment and inspection. Metallizes samples, for certain processes or qualifications, requiring laboratory verification.
  • Perform deburring work such as removing excess coating, including correcting defects in application.
  • Occasionally perform reworks and touch-ups if necessary.
  • Perform dimensional and visual checks on parts during repair as indicated or required using various types of precision measuring instruments and verification gauges.
  • Keep appropriate records of various parameters up to date in order to establish efficient and stable operations with statistical process control.
  • May be called upon to participate in the development of new parts or processes for the choice of methods or tools.
  • May be called upon to simultaneously operate several closely spaced machines.
What you need to succeed
  • DEC in machining technology with AEC in numerical control
  • Ability to work in a team while having good autonomy
  • Interest in mechanics

  • This position is in a French-speaking work environment, nevertheless, it requires a basic knowledge of English to understand certain specialized work instructions, drawings, and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations.
