Position Overview
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will be the primary reference for legal matters (excluding human resources and tax issues) for Rheinmetall Canada. You will ensure compliance with Canadian law and corporate governance requirements while supporting a wide range of commercial, contractual and operational activities. You will work closely with internal teams in Canada and abroad, act as the main liaison with the divisional General Counsel based in Germany, and help adapt international policies to the Canadian regulatory context.

Main Responsibilities
- Ensure Canadian entities comply with applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.
- Provide strategic legal advice on commercial, contractual, corporate and regulatory matters.
- Manage complex commercial negotiations independently.
- Lead governance activities, including corporate filings, board documentation and adherence to Rheinmetall group policies and standards.
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and legal documents.
- Serve as the primary legal contact between Rheinmetall Canada, the group and other Rheinmetall entities worldwide.
- Support business units by identifying, assessing and mitigating legal and regulatory risks, including those related to international operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, compliance, HR, finance) to develop practical, business-aligned solutions.
- Organize and deliver internal training and awareness sessions on international policies, compliance and legal best practices.
- Adapt and harmonize company policies, procedures and guidelines with Canadian legal requirements.
- Manage relationships with external counsel and oversee specialized legal mandates as needed (e.g., litigation management).
- Contribute to continuous improvement of internal processes, templates and governance frameworks.

Qualifications and Experience
Law degree (LL.B.) and membership in the Barreau du Québec.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in corporate or commercial law, ideally within an in-house legal department or a multinational company.
- Fully bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken.
- Strong ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, practical business advice.
- Ability to influence without hierarchical authority.

- Sense of responsibility and ability to provide concise, timely advice under pressure.

- Experience within an international organization and a matrix structure is an asset.
