The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for a Competency Management Advisor to join our Human Resources team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada), where you will work jointly with the Competency Strategy Manager and a vast network of stakeholders (Human Resources Business Partners, European Academies, Airbus Canada Function focal points – Engineering, transversal function, Production, Quality, etc. –, North American colleagues, etc.).
You will be part of the Organizational Development team responsible for deploying a strategy and the means to ensure the development of Airbus Canada teams and leaders of today and tomorrow.
The team organization is established to promote autonomous transversal collaboration, supporting each other and learning collectively.
Your role as Competency Management Advisor will be to support the Competency Strategy Manager in the steering and implementation of projects related to competency management within Airbus Canada, including planning, coordination, monitoring, and communication with stakeholders. You will also contribute to data analysis and continuous process improvement.

Your challenges:
Support the competency management strategy for the Airbus Canada site and its implementation:
- Participate in the annual review of the Airbus Canada competency strategy;
- Participate in the updating and monitoring of the competency mapping;
- Contribute to the preparation of competency evaluations;
- Help define and implement actions resulting from the competency development strategy.
Support the definition, communication, and training on processes resulting from the competency management strategy:
- Contribute to the drafting of guides and communication materials on processes;
- Participate in the organization and logistics of training and awareness sessions on processes.
Participate in leading a network of focal points in the various functions and in escalating training needs:
- Coordinate exchanges with focal points within a defined scope;
- Participate in the collection and synthesis of training needs reported by this network.
Contribute to maintaining the relationship with the academies based in Europe:
- Actively monitor the evolution of competency catalogs with the help of the functions you will be monitoring;
- Identify and secure actions to be undertaken following these evolutions.
Collaborate with HR partners (training, recruitment, mobility, workforce planning):
- Work in close collaboration with partners in training, recruitment, mobility, and workforce planning to proactively address the site's competency needs and the succession plan.
Support data analysis for workforce planning and competency management:
- Collect and organize relevant data (retirements, market changes, internal mobility, etc.);
- Perform preliminary analyses of this data;
- Contribute to the preparation of conclusions and recommendations.
Participate in the digitalization and automation of tools and processes:
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of predictive models and digital tools;
- Assist teams in the use of these tools.
Participate in major projects initiated by Airbus Commercial:
- Contribute to the Skills project;
- Contribute to the deployment of the “Competence & Learning for Subs & Regions” project.
Contribute to the management of critical knowledge processes and team support:
- Take charge of critical knowledge management processes and support the teams of managers and HRBPs in the application of initiatives.
Your profile:
- University degree in Administration, Human Resources, Project Management, or a related field;
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in project management, ideally in Human Resources or competency management. Or in predictive knowledge management resource management;
- Knowledge of the professions and challenges of Engineering is an asset;
- Solid skills in project management, proficiency in tools (e.g.: Zoho, iKAMBAN, Google Suite, planiware), sense of organization, and rigor;
- Analytical and synthesis skills, excellent communication skills, great ability to collaborate and adapt;
- Autonomy, initiative, political acumen, and diplomacy to successfully navigate a dynamic and international environment;
- Fluency in French and English (spoken and written).
