Advisor - Asset Management

The selected person will design and supervise all aspects of the repair order process for all durable components. They will monitor the repair order process and cycle time, and will also keep key supplier performance indicators up to date with regard to cycle time warranties.

Responsibilities:

Supervise the repair order management process from start to finish; including warranty orders

• Effectively manage the repair cycle to meet Air Canada Maintenance requirements.
• Monitor, track and record the routing of parts within Air Canada Maintenance (stores, line maintenance, supplier, transport, etc.). Resolve any gate hold issues to ensure continuous flow of parts.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement them to limit repeated disruptions.
• Effectively manage and control inventory of durable items in the repair cycle.
• Constantly identify opportunities for cost reduction and process automation improvement.
• Validate additional costs related to component repair.
• Resolve any cross-functional difficulties or discrepancies affecting the repair cycle.
• Support uneconomical repair assessment for destruction processing and perform disposal operations.
• Identify opportunities to accelerate processes based on customer requirements and contractual obligations.

Monitor repair order cycle time

• Provide weekly and monthly performance reports on the routing of parts to different gates, as well as ad hoc reports necessary for the application of contractual obligation specificities.
• Ensure the accuracy of information within the TRAX maintenance and engineering system for reporting.

Maintain supplier master data

• Ensure the accuracy of information in our supplier database, which includes more than 150 suppliers in multiple locations.
• Ensure that our suppliers always comply with our compliance requirements.
• Support Fleet Management Engineering for maintenance programs or reliability improvement initiatives.

Innovative Methods

• Initiate cost reduction activities and liaise closely with other managers and stakeholders.
• Participate in the identification of new opportunities for innovative management methods and transition activities.
• Participate in the preparation and documentation of processes, including graphical representations of processes, and keep the control manual up to date with the latest processes.
• Perform process audits and post-implementation reviews to verify their acceptance and effectiveness, and lead corrective actions.
• Provide technical support specific to their area of expertise.

Operational Support

• Participate in daily production and operational conference calls, and report on the status of component availability and recovery plans, as required.
• Determine the priority and criticality level of component maintenance, and follow up with suppliers.
• Evaluate future component needs and ensure sufficient stock is available to support the maintenance plan.
• Coordinate the removal of borrowed parts as efficiently as possible.
• Collaborate with the buyer to ensure all exchanges are made in accordance with contractual agreements.
• Support other business units for activities related to surplus stock.

Budget Preparation and Related Outlooks

Participate in the preparation of annual operational budgets and those for Component Maintenance, and ensure that all costs have been taken into account.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or college diploma in business, engineering or another technical discipline, or equivalent
• Three to five years of relevant experience as a team leader or engineer in a technical environment
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment or manufacturing technologies, an asset
• Excellent knowledge of software (Excel, Word, Microsoft Project), TRAX system, material requirements planning systems and integrated management software packages
• Proven ability to foster relationships and to lead and influence people, with or without formal authority.
• Proven ability for interpersonal relations and communication, particularly negotiation.
• Strong project management expertise.
• Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of standard aeronautical contract contents.
• Knowledge of Transport Canada aviation standards and regulations.
