Reporting directly to the Manager - Workforce Reintegration, the Workforce Reintegration Advisor is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of airport processes related to attendance programs. Ensure the management of rehabilitation-related cases for employees who are members of Unifor and the IAMAW. Develop strong relationships with other teams, notably those of Rehabilitation Management, Occupational Health Services, Labour Relations and Operations, Workforce Planning, as well as other partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, monitor and coordinate a multitude of activities and processes, in order to ensure excellence in attendance and workplace case management for the concerned stations.
  • Take the lead on local initiatives to implement all station attendance programs and processes.
  • Develop an accountability-driven culture for frontline employees. Promote initiatives aimed at fostering a healthy and productive workforce.
  • Lead, motivate and coach employees, provide constructive and ongoing feedback on performance, and develop action plans.
  • Analyze daily absenteeism reports.
  • Anticipate, identify and resolve attendance and accommodation issues, adopting a results-oriented approach to increase overall employee reliability.
  • Identify employees who exceed the company's general attendance thresholds. Engage in constructive and regular dialogues to reduce absenteeism rates and general costs.
  • Proactively manage the files of employees receiving compensation from Workers' Compensation Boards or benefits under the group income protection plan in the event of disability with an emphasis on safe and positive workplace reintegration.
  • Assess employee abilities and find accommodation measures suited to their duties and progressive work hardening programs.
  • Regularly review employee files, highlight any needs related to a grievance procedure or a negotiation process, and obtain further guidance from Labour Relations, as needed.
  • Produce reports and analyze data efficiently to reduce workplace injuries and illnesses and improve attendance.
  • Adopt a forward-thinking approach to foster continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
  • Develop strong relationships with all partner managements to support initiatives and the implementation of Airport management directives.
  • Commit to continuously improving skills related to employee well-being, emotional intelligence, mental health awareness, diversity and inclusion.
  • Commit to learning and understanding HR policies, collective agreements and legislation related to absenteeism and accommodation, and keeping up to date.
  • Ensure the accuracy of reporting and data entry.
  • Effectively prepare employee files by ensuring that medical information is received and processed in accordance with established policies and procedures. Ensure that the filing system and documentation are maintained to provide employee files to Labour Relations. Attend arbitration hearings as a witness, as needed.

Qualifications

  • Possess at least a high school diploma
  • Experience in air transport and knowledge of airport operations
  • Knowledge of collective agreements and unionized personnel management
  • Strong talent for communication and interpersonal relations
  • Knowledge of the policies and guidelines of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and the Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail.
  • Resilience and flexibility as a leader
  • Ability to work autonomously, under minimal supervision, in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities and make effective decisions
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and databases
  • Excellent leadership and managerial courage
  • Be willing to work a variable schedule including days, evenings, weekends, nights and holidays

Conditions of Employment:

Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time an offer of employment is presented and are responsible for obtaining the necessary work permits, visas or other authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided before the start date.
