Do you have experience in health, safety, and environment, have you worked in the manufacturing sector, and are you looking to grow and develop new skills? This position is for you!
The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for a Health, Safety & Environment Advisor (for the evening shift) to join our HSE team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada), where you will act as an expert consultant to directors, department heads, supervisors, and employees to guide them towards the best practices in occupational health and safety.
You will be part of the Health, Safety & Environment team responsible for ensuring adherence to the company's health and safety policies and procedures, supporting operations by conducting job safety analyses and researching best OHS practices, and performing operational control audits and risk assessments.
The team's organization is established to promote cross-functional collaboration in an autonomous manner, by supporting each other and learning collectively.
Your role as an HSE Advisor will be to:
- Be the guardian and promoter of our policies, ensuring they are not only respected but lived daily by every team member;
- Conduct risk and task analyses that go beyond compliance, anticipating and neutralizing hazards before they even appear;
- Integrate the HSE vision at the outset of every project, every change, to ensure that safety is the foundation of our innovation;
- Support managers in accident investigations that go beyond symptoms to eliminate root causes;
- Maintain and elevate our certification standards, turning audits into real levers for continuous improvement;
- Identify training needs, then participate in updating them. Lead sessions that don't just inform, but transform mindsets and behaviours.
Your working environment:
The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is headquartered in Mirabel, in the greater Montreal area, where the vibrant city of Montreal is just a stone's throw away. Known for its peaceful and safe environment, the region offers a high quality of life for younger or experienced professionals and families, perfectly balancing career opportunities and outdoor activities that makes it a truly special place to call home.
How we care for you:
- Financial rewards: Attractive salary, annual bonus, group insurance plan, pension plan and share purchase plan.
- Work / Life Balance: A hybrid working policy (based on operational needs), on-site cafeterias and a highly competitive holiday policy.
- Wellbeing/Health: Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Discount Program, on-site Medical Service, access to a public shuttle service between Laval (Montmorency metro station) and Mirabel, and a carpooling application.
- Individual development: Great upskilling opportunities and development prospects with unlimited access to 10,000+ e-learning courses, certifications, accelerated development programmes, national and international mobility.
Wherever possible, Airbus promotes flexible working modes to foster innovative thinking.
Your challenges:
- Be the driving force of our cultural evolution in HSE, moving from reaction to proactivity;
- Establish your credibility so that your HSE recommendations are integrated from the very first decision-making phases;
- Develop a strategic vision to foresee the organization's needs and position HSE as a competitive advantage;
- Master the art of persuasive communication to mobilize all levels of the organization, from the shop floor to management;
- Build a work environment so safe that it becomes a benchmark, thus sustainably protecting our company's most vital resource: our talent;
Your boarding pass:
- You have at least two (2) years of experience in health and safety in the manufacturing sector, where you have achieved measurable results;
- University degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Relations, or Human Resources with a health and safety specialization;
- You do not need hierarchical authority to inspire action. Your expertise, passion, and interpersonal skills (bilingual French/English is essential) are enough to mobilize teams;
- When faced with a complex problem, you are the one who takes the initiative, analyzes with acuity, and proposes pragmatic and innovative solutions;
- You thrive on performance in a context of constant change, knowing how to combine pleasure at work and achieving objectives;
- You are deeply people-oriented, while maintaining sharp professional judgment to manage priorities and align HSE with the company's strategic objectives;
- Complete Bilingual Proficiency (French and English), both spoken and written.
This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.
