We are looking for detail-oriented and enthusiastic individuals to fill the position of Coordinator – Fleet Management – Maintenance Operations Control.

Reporting to the Duty Manager, the Maintenance Operations Controller is responsible for all aspects related to the technical regulation of Air Canada aircraft in accordance with the Maintenance Control Manual.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide and direct Air Canada, contracted maintenance organizations, and flight crews to ensure compliance with Air Canada's maintenance requirements, maximum operational status of aircraft, punctuality, and utilization of aircraft, in accordance with Air Canada's Control Manual.
  • Manage the technical regulation of all Air Canada and passenger aircraft in accordance with applicable airworthiness standards.
  • Coordinate necessary day-of-flight maintenance activities at network stations and provide technical assistance, including troubleshooting instructions for defect correction (including recurrent defect management).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all online maintenance activities at all times, including operational irregularities (IROP) and emergency activities.
  • Communicate any operational restrictions affecting aircraft to Flight Dispatch and Network Operations Control (SOC).
  • Control all flight essential equipment assigned to the fleet.
  • Keep the Duty Manager and other senior management (as needed) informed of the operational status of the fleet.
  • Stay abreast of all necessary technical and regulatory training to perform duties in this position.

Qualifications

  • Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license (M2 or E) with active endorsement for any aircraft type in Air Canada's fleet.
  • Proven knowledge of regulatory programs and agencies (Maintenance Control Manual, Transport Canada, FAA).
  • Availability to work shifts and extended hours occasionally.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written).
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external clients.
  • Proven leadership talent.
  • Good judgment and initiative in taking appropriate action.
  • Ability to guide people and give clear technical directions.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • External or internal management development.
  • Computer skills (Word, email, Excel, Windows).
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.

Employment conditions:

Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time an employment offer is made and are responsible for obtaining necessary work permits, visas, or other authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided before the start date.
