We are looking for detail-oriented and enthusiastic individuals to fill the position of Coordinator - Fleet Management - Maintenance Activities Control.

Reporting to the Shift Manager, the Maintenance Activities Controller is responsible for all aspects related to the technical regulation of Air Canada aircraft in accordance with the Maintenance Control Manual.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide and direct Air Canada, contracted maintenance organizations, and flight crews to ensure compliance with Air Canada maintenance requirements, maximum aircraft operational status, on-time performance, and aircraft utilization, in accordance with the Air Canada Control Manual.
  • Manage the technical regulation of all Air Canada and passenger aircraft in accordance with applicable airworthiness standards.
  • Coordinate necessary maintenance activities on the day of the flight at network stations and provide technical assistance, including troubleshooting instructions for defect correction (including management of recurring defects).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all line maintenance activities at all times, including for operational irregularities (IROP) and emergency activities.
  • Communicate any operational restrictions affecting aircraft to Flight Dispatch and Network Operations Control (SOC).
  • Control all flight-essential equipment assigned to the fleet.
  • Keep the Shift Manager and senior management (as needed) informed of the operational status of the fleet.
  • Stay abreast of any technical and regulatory training necessary to fulfill the duties of this position.

Qualifications

  • Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license (M2 or E) with active approval for any aircraft type in the Air Canada fleet.
  • Proven knowledge of programs and regulatory agencies (Maintenance Control Manual, Transport Canada, FAA).
  • Availability to work shifts and extended hours on occasion.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to deal effectively with internal and external clients.
  • Proven leadership talent.
  • Good judgment and initiative in taking appropriate action.
  • Ability to guide people and give clear directions on technical matters.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • External or internal management development.
  • Computer skills (Word, email, Excel, Windows).
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.

Employment Conditions:

Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time a job offer is presented and are responsible for obtaining work permits, visas, or other necessary authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided before the start date.
