Do you have project management experience, have you worked in aircraft maintenance and would you like to progress and develop new skills? Then this job is for you!

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for an Aircraft Maintenance Coordinator to join our In-Service Operations team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada).

The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Your role as an Aircraft Maintenance Coordinator involves assuming the dual mandate of supervising Maintenance activities and Quality Assurance (QA). You will control resources, lead functional teams, and act as an authority on technical best practices. Your impact extends beyond the hangar, influencing cross-divisional policies and ensuring that every intervention meets the highest global safety standards.

Your working environment:

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is headquartered in Mirabel, in the greater Montreal area, where the vibrant city of Montreal is just a stone's throw away. Known for its peaceful and safe environment, the region offers a high quality of life for younger or experienced professionals and families, perfectly balancing career opportunities and outdoor activities, making it a truly special place to call home.

Because we take care of you:

  • Financial rewards: Attractive salary, annual bonus, group insurance plan, pension plan and share purchase plan.
  • Work / Life Balance: A hybrid working policy (based on operational needs), an on-site cafeteria, a highly competitive holiday policy.
  • Wellbeing / Health: Employee Assistance Program (EAP), discount program, on-site medical service, access to a public shuttle service between Laval (Montmorency metro station) and Mirabel and a carpooling application.
  • Individual development: Opportunities for development and numerous training possibilities (catalogue of over 10,000 e-learning courses available in open access to develop your employability, certifications, accelerated development programmes, national and international mobility).

Chez Airbus, nous vous aidons à travailler, à vous connecter et à collaborer plus facilement et de manière plus flexible. Partout où cela est possible, nous favorisons la flexibilité dans nos modes de travail afin de stimuler l'esprit d'innovation.

Your challenges:

  • Lead and manage functional maintenance teams during scheduled and unscheduled checks following aircraft delivery;
  • Allocate technical resources, tooling, and manpower to meet operational deadlines without compromising safety;
  • Act as a primary mentor for junior engineers, providing high-level technical guidance and work validation (sign-off);
  • Develop, implement, and audit maintenance policies to ensure compliance with aviation authorities (e.g.: TCCA, FAA, EASA or local equivalents);
  • Identify systemic quality issues and implement corrective actions that impact the entire organization;
  • Drive the adoption of "best practices" methodologies to improve maintenance efficiency and reliability;
  • Advanced Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Lead investigations into complex mechanical, avionic, or structural anomalies that escape standard procedural resolutions. Apply advanced Safety Management Systems (SMS) principles to identify underlying systemic failures rather than immediate technical symptoms;
  • High-Stakes Quality Decision Making: Act as quality authority during critical maintenance scenarios. Independently evaluate and authorize technical dispositions, ensuring that expedited return-to-service imperatives never compromise regulatory compliance or safety margins;
  • Proactive Risk Management: Use analytical data to predict and mitigate quality deviations;
  • Cooperate with external suppliers, manufacturers (OEMs) and inter-divisional departments to optimize maintenance activities;
  • Although a maintenance specialist, you possess a comprehensive understanding of related disciplines such as logistics, procurement, and safety engineering;
  • Proven ability to manage high-stakes projects and daily operations independently;
  • Natural educator capable of raising the technical skill level of the entire maintenance department;
  • Ability to look beyond immediate tasks to evaluate how maintenance and quality decisions affect the long-term lifecycle and asset value.

Your profile:

  • You have a minimum of ten (10) years of aircraft maintenance experience in various environments (airline operations, heavy maintenance, line maintenance, maintenance planning, major repairs, etc.);
  • You have experience in a supervisory role within an approved maintenance organization;
  • You have a very good knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulation (CAR 571, 573 and 706), having knowledge of CAR 561 is an asset;
  • You have knowledge of EASA, FAA and other regulatory authorities;
  • You hold an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licence (M2);
  • You have exceptional organizational abilities and are an excellent communicator with strong "interpersonal" skills;
  • Being fluent in English and French (spoken and written) is a major asset;
  • Endorsement on the A220 is an asset.

This work requires an awareness related to all potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity; these values are the foundation of the company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.
