Our manufacturing engineering department is currently looking for a manufacturing engineering coordinator. Their main mandate will be an expert role related to operational excellence and continuous improvement of our plant.

They will be a key player in achieving the organization's strategic objectives and will work under the supervision and in collaboration with the Strategic Project Manager.

Main responsibilities

• Coordinate various mandates with multidisciplinary teams in relation to achieving the objectives of the strategic plan and KPIs of the organization;
• Carry out projects in "Lean Manufacturing", VSM, operations balancing, workstation layout, acquisition and implementation of new equipment, OHS and ergonomics issues, etc.;
• Identify, analyze, propose and implement innovative solutions for manufacturing processes to eliminate health and safety issues, increase added value and reduce costs;
• Prepare and facilitate KAIZEN workshops aimed at continuous process improvement, optimization of operational performance and waste reduction;
• Ensure technological watch and participate in the evaluation of new equipment and technological solutions aimed at the automation and optimization of certain plant processes.
• Collaborate on the strategy and developments of assembly sequences and methods, standard times and operations balancing with a vision of operational excellence;
• Resolve various issues, make decisions aligned with the organization's vision and priorities, and provide the necessary support to optimize productivity within the company;
• Design and optimize workstation layouts, work methods and tooling through the implementation of value-added production initiatives in collaboration with various departments;
• Participate in production launch activities as part of the product development process in co-creation mode with different departmental experts (engineering, production, processes, industrialization, quality, logistics & procurement).

Desired profile

• College or university degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent experience;
• 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role;
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing tools and concepts, waste, VSM, VA/NVA studies, Kaizen methodology, DMAIC, etc.;
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously according to priorities;
• Effective management of project plans and schedules using Gantt charts;
• Recognized for their ability to collaborate with all members of the organization, mobilize teams and communicate effectively;
• Good skills in root cause analysis, problem solving and information synthesis;
• Knowledge and interest in Industry 4.0, including automation, robotization and integration of new industrial technologies;
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools;
• Asset: Bilingualism (English and French) spoken and written;
• Asset: Applied knowledge of 2D and 3D drawing software.
• Asset: Knowledge of occupational health and safety.
