JOB SUMMARY:

The Jigs and Fixtures Design Drafter designs and maintains up to date drawings of jigs and fixtures required in production using SolidWorks and the AS400 system, in compliance with industry standards and practices. In addition, they contribute to and/or take charge of various projects for improving the use or design of jigs and fixtures, and ensure their safe use. They validate the design and ensure manufacturing meets production requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze requests for the creation of new jigs and fixtures to confirm their feasibility in compliance with standards (safety) and product limitations;
  • Participate in design reviews;
  • Modify and keep up to date drawings of jigs and fixtures;
  • Keep the priority list of jigs up to date;
  • Participate in committees aimed at improving jigs;
  • Promote the use of poka-yoke to limit production needs;
  • Validate the dimensional compliance of manufactured jigs;
  • Ensure that documentation related to the use of jigs is compliant and understood by production;
  • Act as a contact person for production support technicians when they are unable to resolve an issue affecting jigs;
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Profile Sought

  • DEP in industrial drafting;
  • Strong interest in design and assembly processes;
  • Very good command of SolidWorks software;
  • Technical rigor;
  • Autonomy and resourcefulness;
  • Desire to learn and develop professionally;
  • Good teamwork skills
