JOB SUMMARY:

The Jigs and Fixtures Designer / Drafter designs and keeps up to date the drawings of jigs and fixtures required in production using SolidWorks and the AS400 system, in compliance with standards and practices affecting our industry. In addition, they contribute to and/or take charge of various projects to improve the use or design of jigs and fixtures, and ensure their safe use. They validate the design and ensure manufacturing meets production requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze requests for the creation of new jigs and fixtures to confirm their feasibility in compliance with standards (safety) and our product limits;
  • Participate in the design review;
  • Modify and keep up to date the drawings of jigs and fixtures;
  • Keep the priority list of jigs up to date;
  • Participate in committees aimed at improving jigs;
  • Promote the use of "poka-yoke" to limit production needs;
  • Validate the dimensional compliance of manufactured jigs;
  • Ensure that documentation related to the use of jigs is compliant and understood by production;
  • Act as a contact person for production support technicians when they are unable to resolve an issue affecting the jigs;
  • Perform all other related tasks.

  • DEP in industrial drafting;
  • Strong interest in design and assembly processes;
  • Very good mastery of SolidWorks software;
  • Technical rigor;
  • Autonomy and resourcefulness;
  • Desire to learn and develop professionally;
  • Good team spirit
