We are looking for a talented individual to join our full-stack application developer team to develop high-quality software across the entire technology stack, designing backend systems, business logic, and responsive frontend interfaces. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration, write comprehensive tests, optimize performance, and contribute to system documentation to ensure scalability and maintainability.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage full-stack applications using modern frameworks and cloud-native architectures.
• Design and implement scalable backend services, APIs, and business logic using Java, Node.js, or similar technologies.
• Build responsive, accessible, and high-performance frontend interfaces using React, Angular, or equivalent.
• Ensure smooth integration between frontend and backend systems using Air Canada's enterprise integration platform.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that promotes long-term scalability.
• Develop and conduct unit, integration, and end-to-end testing to ensure code reliability.
• Optimize performance at all levels: frontend responsiveness, backend efficiency, and database tuning.
• Apply modern design principles such as microservices, serverless architecture, and modular components.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, designers, Quality Assurance, and developers to align goals and deliverables.
• Participate in Agile team activities and contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to increase productivity and encourage team-wide adoption.
• Contribute to system documentation and onboarding materials to foster team knowledge sharing.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to improve product performance and user experience.
• Lead product lifecycle activities, including debugging, performance optimization, and post-launch support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least three years of experience in full-stack software development.
• In-depth mastery of Java and Node.js (2+ years).
• Experience in building and integrating critical APIs.
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Frontend frameworks: React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Backend frameworks: Express.js, NestJS, Spring Boot.
  • Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Couchbase.
  • API protocols and specifications: REST, SOAP, OpenAPI, Swagger.
  • Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation.
• Strong understanding of application security, performance optimization, and data protection.
• In-depth knowledge of AI integration and emerging technologies.
• Demonstrated punctuality and reliability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.

Assets

• Experience with Mulesoft or other Java-based Enterprise Service Buses (IBM IIB, Tibco).
• Knowledge of API management platforms (Apigee, IBM API Connect, Mulesoft).
• Experience with Content Management Systems (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager).
• Experience in the airline or travel industry.
• Experience in Agile development within cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of team dynamics between Product Owner, Scrum Master, and development team.
