Position Summary
As a member of a collaborative development team, the Sr. Software Developer will be instrumental in the design and implementation of secure Key Management Platform & SaaS Service.
Essential Functions
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable microservices in a containerized cloud environment under technical guidance.
- Implement features that support multi-tenancy, high availability, scalability, manageability, and extensibility.
- Apply test-driven development practices and automation to improve software quality and reliability.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and technical issues in distributed and multi-threaded applications.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, senior engineers, QA, DevOps, and support teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Break down assigned work, provide estimates, and complete development tasks within Agile sprint timelines.
- Develop software solutions by analyzing system needs, data flows, usage patterns, and work processes.
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation, diagrams, code comments, and operational notes for assigned features.
- Follow secure coding standards and participate in code reviews to ensure maintainable, reliable, and secure software.
- Stay current with relevant cloud, server-side development, database, and security technologies.
- Work closely with customer support and operations teams to investigate production issues and contribute to timely resolution.
Minimum Requirements
- 5-8 years of related experience as a software engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production or production-like environments.
- Experience developing, deploying, or supporting SaaS applications and cloud-native services.
- Programming experience with Go, C, C++, or similar server-side programming languages.
- Experience designing, developing, or consuming RESTful APIs; familiarity with API documentation tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Experience developing high-availability database-centric enterprise software using relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Experience troubleshooting software, databases, and application performance issues, including blocking and deadlocking scenarios.
- Experience with Linux software development, packaging, testing, release processes, and scripting languages.
- Working knowledge of security standards or concepts such as PKI, PKCS, or KMIP.
- Familiarity with databases and schema design concepts.
- Strong problem-solving, written, verbal, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience or familiarity with Key Management, cryptographic services, or security-focused platform applications.
- Working knowledge of secure coding practices, security principles, and common application security considerations.
- Familiarity with cloud provider SDKs and services in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
The anticipated TTC range for this role is 95,825.40 - 127,767.20 - 159,709.00 CAD Annual.
