Reporting to the Senior Manager - Training and Development - Cargo, the Developer - Training - Cargo is responsible for developing e-learning modules and training videos, as well as maintaining and updating existing tutorials for Air Canada Cargo employees.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of e-learning modules and training videos for Air Canada Cargo management.
  • Develop effective work plans, monitor them, and regularly keep the Manager - Learning and Development - Cargo informed of key milestones and timelines.
  • Identify, document, and report performance and learning gaps by leading and participating in needs assessment and analysis.
  • Collaborate with Training Design Managers in designing instructional and support materials.
  • Ensure training programs are designed in accordance with operational needs and regulatory agencies, and aligned with the overarching training strategies and objectives of Air Canada Cargo management.
  • Ensure programs are designed in accordance with training standards, instructional design processes, and methodologies that support adult learning principles.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct train-the-trainer workshops to convey program content as needed.
  • Participate in meetings and workshops as needed to improve training materials.
  • Contribute to the rollout and evaluation of e-learning modules and training videos for Air Canada Cargo management.
  • Maintain and update e-learning modules in the Air Canada University (Learning Management System) and, as needed, update modules to ensure compliance with new regulatory policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provide operational management and support to Training department team members as needed.

Qualifications

Training Requirements

  • Recognized university degree, preferably in education, adult education, instructional technology, or graphic communication, an asset.
  • Certificate in teaching techniques, an asset.
  • Certificate in instructional material design, an asset.

Experience

  • At least one year of recent training development experience, a requirement.
  • At least three years of experience in freight, an asset.
  • Must be familiar with eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise 360, Vyond).
  • Knowledge of technical projects and Air Canada Cargo automation tools (e.g., WebLynx, SmartLOAD), an asset.
  • Knowledge of the SumTotal Learning Management System (LMS), an asset.
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of work-related publications (e.g., publication 178), an asset.
  • Strong computer skills, namely MS Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe (or similar software) video editing.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively / strong team spirit.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and proactively and manage daily work with changing priorities.
  • Strong focus on safety.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with employees at various levels, management, and suppliers.
  • Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and manage various work assignments.
  • Show punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.

Conditions of Employment:
