As the Director of Business Development at Rheinmetall Canada, your main challenge will be to generate a significant volume of orders for strategic opportunities in Canada and internationally. You will lead the development and positioning of Rheinmetall Canada's capabilities in the air defense and surveillance markets, from the decision to bid to contract closing.
Here are your main responsibilities:
- Obtain significant orders for strategic opportunities in Canada and internationally.
- Support the development and positioning of capabilities to win market share in defense and other strategic markets.
- Develop and implement significant opportunities/strategies as well as prospecting and follow-up plans.
- Develop innovative proposals and deliver strategic presentations to management.
- Lead complex prospecting and follow-up teams, jointly developing key arguments and strategy to win markets.
- Ensure strategic positioning of Rheinmetall Canada with all levels of government.
- Continuously stay informed of competing market offers and new technologies.
- Communicate and implement the capture management plan, including selling price, competitive analysis, and design-to-cost, and lead a vast multidisciplinary team of resources in accordance with the plan.
The skills we are looking for:
- Hold an engineering degree and an MBA, or an equivalent degree.
- Have at least 10 years of experience in the defense and security sector.
- Possess experience or in-depth knowledge of Canadian government procurement mechanisms.
- Possess experience in strategic and tactical planning, as well as in the implementation of large-scale projects worth several million dollars.
- Possess strong skills in strategic partnerships, collaboration agreements, and subcontractor positioning.
- Possess keen business acumen, combined with balanced negotiation skills.
- Possess strong financial skills in estimation, cost consolidation, and proactive risk management.
- Be ambitious, motivated, positive and dynamic, and possess excellent influencing abilities.
- Proficiency in English (oral and written); proficiency in French would be an asset.
