As the Director, Business Expansion at Rheinmetall Canada, your primary challenge will be to generate a significant volume of orders through strategic opportunities in Canada and internationally. You will lead the development and positioning of Rheinmetall Canada's capabilities in the air defence and surveillance markets, from bid decision through contract award.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Securing significant orders through strategic opportunities in Canada and internationally.
- Supporting the development and positioning of capabilities to win market share in defence and other strategic markets.
- Developing and implementing major opportunity/strategy plans as well as prospecting and follow-up plans.
- Preparing innovative proposals and delivering strategic presentations to senior management.
- Leading complex prospecting and capture teams, developing key arguments and strategy as a team to win contracts.
- Ensuring a strategic positioning of Rheinmetall Canada with all levels of government.
- Keeping continuously informed about competitors' offers on the market and emerging technologies.
- Communicating and implementing the capture management plan, including pricing, competitive analysis and design-to-cost, and leading a large multidisciplinary resource team in accordance with the plan.
Required qualifications:
- University degree in engineering and an MBA, or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 10 years of experience in the defence and security sector.
- Experience or in-depth knowledge of Canadian government procurement mechanisms.
- Experience in strategic and tactical planning, and in implementing large-scale projects worth multiple millions of dollars.
- Strong skills in strategic partnerships, collaboration agreements and subcontractor positioning.
- Strong business acumen and balanced negotiation skills.
- Solid financial skills in estimation, cost consolidation and proactive risk management.
- Ambitious, motivated, positive and dynamic, with excellent influencing capabilities.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); French is an asset.

- Shipley Capture Management certification.
