As the Head of Quality and Technical Support, you will be responsible for ensuring that product and process quality complies with requirements, while also maintaining method-planning activities and providing support to the assembly and testing technical operations teams across the four Canadian engine centers.
The Quality and Technical Leader is also responsible for defining, executing, and deploying strategies and action plans aimed at improving engine center processes in order to achieve the company's performance targets.
You will work closely with various teams to ensure the on-time delivery of our products while maintaining the highest standards of quality and production.
The position is based at our Longueuil location, Monday to Friday during daytime hours and exclusively on-site
What Will Your Day-to-Day Look Like?
- Lead a team of experienced quality and technical professionals responsible for supporting operations at the Canadian engine centers.
- Support the deployment of various strategic quality and technical projects, such as replacing the MES system and implementing new inspection and assembly technologies.
- Strengthen the quality culture by implementing projects and initiatives that foster an environment where quality is valued by all employees.
- Oversee process planning (methods), including the integration of design changes into assembly work instructions (AFS), as well as the deployment of technology projects aimed at continuous operational improvement (test automation, torque measurement systems, induction heating, flexible production lines).
- Provide support to the Assembly and Test Technical Support (ATTS) teams, which deliver services to the assembly line and engine testing operations.
- Support internal and external audit processes to ensure ongoing compliance with industry, regulatory, and customer requirements, including those established by Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and AS9100.
- Support actions related to resolving internal and external issues through escape management, non-conformance management, and audit processes.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and other functional groups within P&WC and PW to support investigations and improvement projects related to engine assembly and testing.
- Support the CORE RTX program to drive continuous improvement and generate value for operations.
- Analyze available data to identify systemic issues and develop strategies and initiatives to improve key performance indicators through the use of proactive tools.
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or Business Management, with a minimum of 10 years of experience; or a Master's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or Business Management, with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
- Inspiring leader, capable of mobilizing, engaging, and developing talent within teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds and communication styles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, comfortable presenting in front of a group (including senior leadership).
- Experience managing quality systems.
- Experience in the aerospace industry or in an assembly-based manufacturing environment.
- Experience using SAP and MS Office Suite.
- Occasional travel to our Canadian engine centers.
- Very good English language proficiency, written and oral, is required for this position considering the operational needs of the employer and the people with whom the candidate will be called upon to interact.
