Reporting directly to the Director – BPM and Digital Transformation, the Associate Director – Global Workforce Planning; DHC and Training plays a key role in ensuring that Global Operations have the capacity, skills and knowledge necessary to execute today's activities and support long-term performance.

This role is responsible for aligning workforce planning, capability development, training and knowledge management with business objectives. By structuring and protecting critical operational knowledge, identifying and closing skills gaps, and reducing dependence on key experts, the role directly supports operational resilience, execution excellence and sustainable growth.

Success in this role requires strong strategic leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to influence decision-making at senior management levels within a global organization.

This position is a key lever for the performance and resilience of Global Operations. By integrating workforce planning, capability development, training and knowledge management, the Associate Director enables the organization to grow, adapt and perform sustainably in a complex and evolving operational environment.

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday with flexible hours in Longueuil and is performed exclusively on-site.

What Your Daily Life Will Look Like

Strategic Leadership and Workforce Planning

  • Collaborate with management and senior leadership teams to define and deploy global workforce and capability strategies aligned with operational priorities and growth plans.
  • Lead the development and execution of workforce planning at the Global Operations level, including skills forecasting, succession considerations and long-term talent sustainability.
  • Define and oversee the Discipline Health Management (DHM) strategy for Global Operations, including governance, metrics and improvement roadmaps.
  • Establish clear roles and responsibilities frameworks to ensure alignment between organizational needs, accountability and required competencies.

Capability, Knowledge and Discipline Health Management

  • Establish and maintain a structured knowledge and capability management framework across Global Operations.
  • Ensure the capture and balance between tacit knowledge (expert know-how, experiential learning) and explicit knowledge (documented processes, standards, standard work and best practices).
  • Foster the standardization and institutionalization of critical operational knowledge to ensure consistency, repeatability and long-term sustainability.
  • Identify and mitigate single points of failure related to key experts or critical roles (cross-training, knowledge capture, succession planning, redundancy strategies).
  • Facilitate intergenerational knowledge transfer to support workforce renewal, retirements, ramp-ups and capacity growth.
  • Ensure strong alignment between DHM assessments, training programs and knowledge repositories, maintaining consistency, relevance and business impact.

Training Strategy, Development and Deployment

  • Assess training and capability development needs using DHM data, surveys, interviews and business consultations.
  • Design, develop and deploy global training programs to close identified skills gaps and support operational priorities.
  • Plan and facilitate disciplinary workshops with subject matter experts focused on skills gap analysis, risk assessment and capability development planning.
  • Oversee the delivery of training in-person, virtually and in hybrid mode.
  • Define and track training effectiveness metrics and continuously improve learning solutions based on results.

Team and Resource Management

  • Lead, mentor and develop a global team of trainers, instructional designers and capability development managers.
  • Provide functional supervision of globally distributed training coordinators to ensure efficient planning, coordination and execution of learning activities.
  • Develop and manage training and capability development budgets, ensuring alignment with priorities and value creation.

Compliance, Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with applicable training standards, regulatory requirements and internal governance.
  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies to workforce, capability, training and knowledge initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, learning technologies and best practices in workforce and knowledge management.
  • Organize and host global workshops, seminars and forums supporting operational transformation and helping to shape the future of Global Operations.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, operations, business administration or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in workforce planning, capability development, training or operational transformation, ideally in a global operations environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading global teams and influencing senior management.

  • Excellent understanding of learning methodologies, adult education principles and knowledge management practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure, standardize and maintain operational knowledge at scale.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and change management capabilities.
  • Experience with continuous improvement tools and digital learning platforms is an asset.

This position operates in a French-speaking work environment; however, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may originate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with international clients, suppliers or colleagues.
