About the project

Reporting to the Vice-President, the Quality Director develops, implements, and ensures the maintenance of a quality vision and strategies for the organization to maintain its manufacturing performance and its excellent reputation in the North American market. In this regard, they develop, structure, implement, and maintain a high-performance quality system for all company activities.

Responsibilities

  • Builds and develops a competent and high-performing quality team. Ensures supervision of the quality team;
  • Develops a strategy for implementing a culture focused on prevention and continuous improvement;
  • Defines a quality roadmap with the implementation of quality management processes and tools aimed at achieving company objectives;
  • Collaborates in the implementation of training programs, and ensures that these programs integrate quality requirements;
  • Ensures compliance and improvement of the quality management system to meet standards and industry requirements;
  • Collaborates with other members of the management team for company management and the achievement of objectives and targets;
  • Collaborates closely with after-sales service teams for customer support;
  • Implements key performance indicators;
  • Implements processes aimed at preventing and effectively resolving quality problems;
  • In partnership with the procurement group, develops strategies, audits, and follow-ups with suppliers to promote the input of parts compliant with our requirements; In case of discrepancies, takes necessary measures to implement suitable corrective actions from our suppliers;
  • Ensures adequate visibility at all levels and fluid communication of deviations and key indicators of the organization's quality system; Ensures that adequate actions are taken by the various sectors concerned to continuously improve quality;
  • Drafts and updates our quality policy; Coordinates efforts to continuously maintain ISO certification;
  • Participates in continuous process improvement;
  • Performs all other related tasks.

Desired profile

Education: Hold a university degree, ideally in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, operations management, or manufacturing engineering.
Experience: Ten (10) years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing company, including a minimum of 5 years as a team manager.

  • Responsible and strongly oriented towards action and results;
  • Proven ability to provide leadership and direction in the development and implementation of operational processes;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and persuasive ability;
  • Highly developed sense of organization and strong analytical mind;
  • Skilled communicator and popularizer, with influencing ability and an excellent team player;
  • Availability to travel outside the province (±10%);
  • Proficiency in the Office suite;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English, as over 80% of our suppliers communicate in English;
  • Membership in a quality assurance association is an asset.
