Reporting to the Vice-President, the Quality Director develops, implements, and maintains a vision and quality strategies for the organization to sustain its manufacturing performance and excellent reputation in the North American market. In this sense, they develop, structure, implement, and maintain a high-performance quality system for all company activities.

Responsibilities

• Builds and develops a competent and high-performing quality team. Ensure supervision of the quality team;
• Develop a strategy for the implementation of a culture focused on prevention and continuous improvement;
• Define a quality roadmap with the implementation of quality management processes and tools aimed at achieving company objectives;
• Collaborate in the implementation of training programs, and ensure these programs incorporate quality requirements;
• Ensure compliance and improvement of the quality management system to meet industry and standard requirements;
• Collaborate with other members of the management team for company management and the achievement of objectives and targets;
• Collaborate closely with After-Sales Service teams for customer support;
• Implement key performance indicators;
• Implement processes aimed at the prevention and effective resolution of quality problems;
• In partnership with the procurement group, develops strategies, audits, and follow-ups with suppliers to promote the input of parts conforming to our requirements; In case of discrepancies, takes necessary means for the implementation of appropriate corrective measures by our suppliers;
• Ensure adequate visibility at all levels and fluid communication of discrepancies and key indicators of the organization's quality system; Ensure appropriate actions are taken by the various targeted sectors to continuously improve quality;
• Draft and update our quality policy; Coordinate efforts for the continuous maintenance of ISO certification;
• Participate in the continuous improvement of processes;
• Perform any other related tasks.

Profile sought

Education: Hold a university degree, ideally in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, operations management, or manufacturing engineering.
Experience: Ten (10) years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing company, including a minimum of 5 years as a team manager.

• Responsible and strongly oriented towards action and results;
• Confirmed ability to provide leadership and give directives regarding the development and implementation of operational processes;
• Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and persuasion capacity;
• Highly developed sense of organization and strong analytical mind;
• Skillful communicator and vulgarizer, possessing an ability to influence and excellent team player;
• Availability to travel outside the province (±10%);
• Mastery of the Office suite;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English since more than 80% of our suppliers communicate in English;
• Member of a quality assurance association is an asset.
